А именно то, что внешний долг не более 40% от ВВП в Штатах. 31 трлн. это общий гос.долг, включая внутренних поставщиков. Не верите? Сайт ФРС и счетной палаты в помощь.

international transactions are made in dollars. all those countries that have dollars in their hands what do you want them to do with it? they invest them in US government bonds. if many countries ask for their money back, the US will go bankrupt. ask Fitch where the debt is. the economic power of the USA lies only in the fact that they try to force you to accept the dollar as a reference currency. and if you don't want to, they'll drop "democracy" on your head.

Un sondeo rápido, creo que los más endeudados de LATAM son Puerto Rico (126% del GDP), Venezuela (120%), Argentina (63%). EEUU (106%) al igual que muchos países de UE tienen deudas por encima de GDP total. La mayoría de los países de LATAM están entre el 20% y el 30% de su GDP total que no está mal.

Just incase why the US debt is so high, is because alot of US currency reserve is held by other countries. Its debt, when these countries send back the US dollar for their own local currency. Its not just governnent bonds. Other national currencies are also held, mostly G7 nations. All needs to be paid back. Thats why dedollarisation is gonna be bad. When countries start using their own currency to trade, this holding of reserve currency will be obsolete.

public debt has always been a variable indicator. because the debt also measures the wealth of savings of the individual citizen of that particular country. most of the public debt of these rich states is held by their respective central banks, which instead of printing money and consequently devaluing it, prefer to buy their own government bonds. another large chunk of debt is held by citizens, who buy their own country's government bonds to protect their savings from inflation. consequently a large debt, indicates that citizens have a lot of savings to invest. finally 30-40% of the debt is held by foreign investors. in this case, those who invest in securities of a foreign country tend to look at the GDP and financial solidity of that particular country, so as to be sure of getting their investment back once it reaches its natural end. a poor country has no financial stability and consequently cannot give certain guarantees and automatically no one buys its government bonds and, paradoxically, appears to be debt-free. but as a result it can't get the liquidity it needs to invest in public infrastructure and so on.

Bonjour, ce genre de vidéo présentée telle quelle n'a strictement aucun intérêt ni aucune pédagogie : 1°La dette d'un pays doit être observée en fonction de son nombre d'habitants, et ramenée à une dette individuelle "par tête", La Suisse (par exemple) à cet égard, serait sans doute le pays le plus endetté du monde. 2° Tous les pays endettés se doivent mutuellement de l'argent, ce qui relativise la dette de chacun d'eux. 3° Les pays les plus riches sont également les plus endettés, car leur capacité de remboursement est la plus pérenne. Par ailleurs, le pays le plus endetté de la planète, les USA, imprime chaque jour des milliards de fausse monnaie (des billets de Monopoly) car la richesse produite en face ne correspond pas à la la valeur imprimée. En un mot, ce sont les pays pauvres (par le biais des échanges en dollar) qui règlent la facture au bénéfice des petits américains meadle class. The stats given in this video are just absolute numbers, with no reference given to the ratio of GDPs. If dept is given as percentage of GDP, Greece would be there right among the top in the list.

If this is indeed " external" debt . This chart is way off. Only about 1/3 of US debt is owned by foreign entities and governments. About 1/3 of US debt is owed to the Social Security administration. This is money the US owes itself. The Federal reserve and other American institutional investors own the majority of the rest. Long story short. Most of the debt is owed to a single American government entity and internal banks within the US.

Debt to GDP ratio is not the only metric out there, it has just as many flaws as any other. You don't take into account interest payments for example.
