Love to see the differences! I think the most shocking were the stag, the nutcrackers and the ornament page. I love your tutorials too. Thank you for your time!

I really like this idea of doing the same book again and comparing the progress. I really loved the double page Mandala.. it's so classy. The nutcracker dolls in red and green are so cute.

Soft or pan pastels or water soluble oil pastels (you can use rubbing alcohol) or distressed ink will make your life way easier for colouring in large spaces of backgrounds. Personally myself doing backgrounds in coloured pencil is so tedious. And I sometimes won’t finish a page because of it. Rarely though. And Id rather moan and groan while doing it and at least finish it than not. Dirty I’m being a bit of a pest here rattling on and on.

I do now use soft pastels a lot for background to make it quicker and easier! I do know what you mean about having to finish a page though! I am the same!

Love this comparison video. Thank you for sharing. I so love the bright metallic pens and markers. I'm so curious how you find the time to color! It's such a beautiful labor of love! Tips for finding time are so welcomed !❤

thank you. My full time job is colouring, so that helps! I also rarely watch TV, I have no other hobbies and I am also very fast at doing things, no sure why, just always have been.

Lovely work. I’ve just received the hard back version of this book from Amazon France, printed by Marabout. I love hardbacked colouring books so I was so excited to find a Johanna book with one. X

Hey there hon. Wonderful work you e done on both as far as I’m concerned. I don’t think k there’d be a problem with scanning and reproducing one of her illustrations to give to your parents as a as card. They’re not planning to sell it are they! Many colourist will reproduce images on paper that is more conducive to water colour and other wet mediums and the illustrators encourage it. As long as credit is given to the artist and it’s not sold. I belong to a group where one person felt she would like to colour the images in a particular book and then still them at a fair. No knowledge of copyright laws or the danger of making money off of somebody else efforts amazed me. Even if the knowledge isn’t there a twinge of conscience would prick most people into rethinking or at least researching my goodness. I did try to warm her as gently as I could. Whether she paid any attention to the warning is a tongue in cheek story I’m sure lol. But she felt because she coloured these images she was sufficiently that it would be ok. Sad though because colouring does not deem the illustrations unrecognizable. So I m sure I was correct but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to take the chance. Anyway love your work and your voice. Have a Merry Christmas or seasons greetings. You just never know which phrase people may take offence to. Hugs xx 🎄🎄🎄🎄🥗🥗🥗🥗☃️☃️☃️❄️❄️

Thank you. There seems to a split opinion in the colouring community about copying work and selling it etc. I am sure Johanna Basford said that it was no allowed, but then other people have told me I am wring and that Johanna said it was allowed! I think it is best to keep it o a minimum, personal use only. As you said, a card that will not be sold should be fine.
