Bikini atoll is a theory with some backing. Except! In the 2004 movie Hasselhoff swims from shore which would take too long to swim from Australia to Bikini Atoll given the time shown passing in the scene. Even with his speed it’d still take longer than shown even with the whole fight going on.

Not really. Bikini atoll was in the 40s and 50s, and bikini bottom is probably not bikini atoll given the movie shows Hasselhoff swimming to bikini bottom at the speed of a water bike.
