The one thing that would’ve made the new set even better is if there was at least one other member of the Brotherhood with Magneto. Probably the most likely ones that could’ve been it it would be Mystique, Sabertooth, or Toad.

Since this is based on X-men 97 which is a continuation of the 90's series, that wouldn't really work. Toad was only in 1-2 episodes working for Solarr, never interacting with Magneto. Mystique was the leader of Brotherhood, working for Apocalypse, while Magneto was the leader of Acolytes and the two of them met only during the final fight against Apocalypse.

You know, it’s really funny that first X-Jet was considered so overpriced for the time. I remember when it came out, everyone shouting that $50 was too much for the 300+ piece set. Now though, looks like a bargain compared to the price of the 2024 set. Times they are a changing!

Small side build for cerebro The X-Jet: £80 - Wolverine, gambit, iceman, jubilee VS mystique, Sabertooth - jet build with interior space (sits 4 minifigures). Small off road truck build with brotherhood logo for mystique and sabertooth Weapon X lab breakout: £50 - Wolverine, deadpool, mystique, magneto - Lab build with water tank and exploding feature Sentinel attack: £40 - Colossus bigfig, iceman, beast - buildable sentinel + side build of stadium style seating which has an exploding feature. I think the problem is their design mentality. They didn't set out to create a brand new set, but to remake an old one, which makes it look outdated.

The 2014 one was cool at the time but this new one is such an upgrade imo. The pointed nose cone looks a hell of a lot better and more realistic. The new Wolverine is a bit of a downgrade but the new Cyclops is cool, wish he had duel molded legs. Rogue looks good, glad we finally got her after a decade and the new Magneto is accurate to the show but the new design of him in X-Men 97 I'm not a fan of. The 2012 Magneto is easily the best of the three versions Lego has done.

I’m waiting for it to be around $65. I think it’s worth that, especially for Rogue and the new Cyclops. I have the original X-Jet and it’s great, but I prefer the overall look of the new one.

I really hope they make Gambit, Jean Grey, Nighcrawler, Mystique, Colossus, Xavier, Kitty Pride and Angel figures. Also the only thing that ruins the new Wolverine figure is the back of thr legs being purely blue.

I just looked on eBay for the 2014 one and found some really good prices. All three of them with mini figures and all of them less than the newer one. I think I’m gonna pick that up for myself for Christmas. Merry Christmas to me.

Wolverine is a character first came out in 1974 so that original Lego costume is from that era when he joined the X-Men so 74 through 1980 or whatever like that and then like you said the second one is from the cartoon

Only catch are the minifigs for me. I love the Rogue and Storm. The sentinel could be much better and the x-birds are average for $65 or $85.

I bought the 2014 version in 2017 for 50$ at the time and the clips have not broken down like on yours. The Magneto also included a helmet and a stand. Your Sentinel is also missing some pieces...

In Germany there are already pre-order discounts, don't worry the shops are trustworthy, where I got the new set for about 60€ (about 65$), with everything I've seen that should be more the standard price but oh well. Just to make it feel right I got the Sentinel from the old set on bricklink for 10€ (about 11$). I think that's the best way to enjoy the set if you can't get it cheaper. And of course the figures from the second CMF are also important. XD

I actually got two old X jets and combined them into a custom X jet which is larger and cooler haha. I don’t think I will get the new one. Not much of a difference to be honest. I wish they would release an all black X jet like the one from the movie.

It would be amazing if LEGO released a $20-$30 Cerebro and training chamber “battle pack”. It wouldn’t be used for armybuilding obviously but it would just be used to boost peoples’ X-Men figure collection. Ideally it would come with Gambit, Nightcrawler, Angel, Jean, and Professor X

Those pieces probably cracked because it was around the time Lego was doing the bio-degradable plastic. All of our early ninjago parts especially green plants had similar issues. Though the solid bricks were thick enough to last with no working parts.

I originally disliked the newer version Magneto and then I looked back at the old one and this one is a bit better. Like at least it looks like something specific to him. The first one, if you told me that he was some performer in Vegas, I’d believe it. Like his entire thing would work better as like the Collector or some sketch character like that rather than Megneto.

I got the 2014 one for $50.00, I used mega construx pices and made the nose pointy using MegaConstrux pieces. Imo it's the overall better set despite the better cosmetics of the 2024. Also if you take out the war table and storage cabinet you can fit even more minifigs. $85 is wayyy overpriced even for 2024 it shouldnbe $50-$60.

The new set dominates the old one for me. Really cool getting an x men 97 set with the retro figs. Its shaping is definitely improved, but I also really liked the color scheme of the original. The colors gave it a darker tone and to me made it more reminiscent of its look in the Fox films. I’m hoping we get more 97 sets.

Lego charges way above price of inflation. They should have at least give us all new minifigure X-men. Though I do like the Rogue and Gold/Blue series Scott Summers (Cyclops). I feel very cheated with that magneto version and a repeat Wolverine that is not even as good as the Collector Minifigure still in stores. (Note: wolverine in this set is missing paint on shoulders.)

I feel like they decided to cheap out on Wolverine, because they literally took him from Marvel series 2 and decided to not include his arm print. For real, like come on they expect you to pay an extra $20 with inflation rates I feel they have more than enough room to include the series 2 style Wolverine or at least make a unique Wolverine otherwise it's $1 per brick extra lol
