I so appreciate your including the environmental cost by comparing how much plastic gets thrown away with each adhesive runner.

@claytungsten the ATG adhesive is permanent - it is meant for framing so it lasts forever. I can't pull apart cardstock without it tearing when I've used the ATG.

Thanks for sharing this video. I purchased the ATG today and was frustrated trying to load the tape for the 1st time. The instructions with it are useless in my opinion. I decided to youtube search for loading instructions and came across your other video on how to load the tape! THANKS! It was very helpful and I was finally able to load the tape without a problem.

Guess I am a bit late getting into this but have to make a comment - or two! First of all - this is a great video and so helpful - I'm never one to waste money experimenting with products so I listen to those who have experience! I ordered at the site recommended but hesitated because of the 12 rolls. Got an email asking me to phone (free) if I needed help. NO PROBLEMS! Got the discounted price but only got 6 rolls. LOVE IT. Great company and product. Thanks so much for making the video.

The red ATG only holds 1/4" adhesive and the yellow only holds 1/2". There is an adaptor that can be bought for the yellow ATG that will enable it to use the 1/4" adhesive as well - it retails for around $14 or so? I just bought the red one b/c I make mostly cards and scrapbook pages and whatnot and 1/4" adhesive is perfect for that!

I just bought my ATG gun today. Got it at Michaels with 2 refils for 20 dollars! Used a 50% off coupon, totally awesome deal! Watched your video on how to load, it was a big help. I've got a project I'll be working on this weekend, so I will deffinitly be using my new "toy".

I'm really glad I saw this video. I've been considering getting an ATG gun pretty seriously for about the past month. I end up buying the little snail type refills at Walmart. They're 2.50 for 30 feet, so really in the long run for a few more dollars I could get the ATG refills. Definitely going to look into this. Thanks SO MUCH for making this video!

@dmnoel15 if you're talking about the ATG there is no need to press hard at all. In fact with all of them there is very little pressure needed - the ATG being the least and the SNAIL being the most.

I have been addressing myself as a pro-beginner in paper crafting for a year now every since I bought my Cricut Expression. So lately I have been seriously watching KZbin to learn about the best products. I want this ATG. I found your video very informative. Hands down that is alot more tape. Mr. or Ms. FYI I too own a Glue Glider by Glue Arts. High Tac refill has exactly 58' but who's counting. No where near the ATG. Hmm?

Great comparisons! I just bought the Pink ATG at Michaels with a 40% coupon. I have yet to try it though. It ridiculously enormous, but I like that it holds so much and less plastic waste on the refill. Definitely more for your money on the refills! I hope they come out with repositionable refills, too.

I have had a lot of problems with the Glue Glider Pro. All of the adhesives for it have messed up except for the hi-tac. Also I find that the emptier the roll gets, the harder it is to use. I just recently purchased the new ATG. It was $40.00 at AC Moore but I used a 50% coupon. Also the refills for the ATG are much cheaper than the GGP and contain much more adhesive. I love the ease of use of the ATG so far but I haven't even come close to emptying my first roll.

Just came across your video as I am trying to actually compare the Glue Glider to the blue xyron mega runner. I live in HOT AZ and I can atest that the tombow/snail tape runner is not the best hold. So I agree with your comments. Have you used the Xyron and what are your thoughts? I just can't get past the size of the ATG to want to purchase!

Such a great video. I wish they made the ATG for left handers. Mine is collecting dust because the essential design makes it nearly impossible to see what you are doing using it with the left hand. (and my right hand is not coordinated enough to do much more than scratch my head, LOL) That said, it seems to me the ATG is the way to go for you right handers.

@@angelaw108 I do have one thing to add that I have learned since I wrote this comment... it is possible that my problem is that I am "cross-dominant" - I am left-handed and right-eyed. This is why I am a horrible firearms shot and it's a very difficult thing to overcome. As I am cross-dominant, I don't know this for sure, but it's possible that you could adapt if you are both left-handed and left-eyed. The best way to determine this is if you can borrow one for a while and test it out.

The pack-n-tape website sells the ATG 714 for 39.95 plus 9.00 shipping. That's a great price, plus their shipping is fast. I have the PRO and don't like it. It didn't stick well for me a all. Plus for some reason I was always running the tape off the edges. :) Thanks for the comparison.

TFS, I was thinking of whether to buy the ATG and came across your video. Please don't get the ProGlider repositioner. Unlike the permanent, it's a headache to use. I've been making mini albums and find myself using rolls of double sided tapes and bottles of glue that I think the ATG might be better. Thanks!

Just FYI the Pro Glider refills have 65 ft not 40. When you buy it new it only has 40 ft to get you started and then you when you buy the refills it has 65 ft.. It doesn't change the fact that a lot of plastic is wasted but there is an extra 25 ft on the refills than what you said in the video. I liked the comparisons and your video, thank you.

Couldn't catch the name of the cheaper tape you use for the ATG Runner. I have the Scotch pink one just arrived, and more glue on me now than on the project so thought I could do with cheaper tape as if there is more than one way to do something I will do it the wrong way. I am in the UK but more stuff from the States is here now. Many thanks for the review.

Thanks for the video. The one issue I have with all tape runners (I don't have ATG) is that the tape falls off the wheel and I haven't been able to fix it. If you have a solution to this I would be grateful.

I love my ATG runner. The snail is way to expensive. I do have the Tombo on my desk for a quick project. I must say I have switched my card making favorite to Mono adhesive by Tombo. This glue is cheap and I can make many cards with 1 bottle. The ATG is great if I need to do a large area. This was a good comparison and I hope everyone on the fence makes the investment in the ATG runner. Thanks for a great video. Cathy

As a lefty, I was so disappointed with the Scotch runner. Because the glue strip rests on the right side or the roller, I have to look over and around. Love the Pro and no lefty problems. I complained to the company and told them their box needs "Righty" on it or make lefty cartridges. No reply. That was a LOT of $$$ down the drain.

I agree the ATG is economically and environmentally better... but I'm just having some trouble that the adhesive doesn't STICK to the paper as I run the applicator over the paper and ends up gooing up on the used paper of the roll. :( Also, it seems like the roll is sliding off the two rollers, but perhaps that's just the way it's made. In any case, thanks for the informative video! :)

I find the smaller adhesive unit useless because it doesn't hold as well. The problem here is that all the units you demonstrated use back-to-back tape and usually miss a spot. Friends have sent me cards in the mail and on a hot day the adhesive became weak and pieces of the card began to fall off. I find using permanent glue on my cards and crafts work better. Glue has a better fusion on paper than tape. Although, this kind of tape is always great for gift wrapping paper.

@PrairiePaperandInk9 жыл бұрын
Linda DeChow I think there is a difference in quality (they used more plastic pieces on the pink version where there are metal pieces on the red one) from what I've heard but I've never had a chance to compare them side-to-side - but I don't think it's a big deal. I've never heard of anyone having issues with the pink ones!

I can't get my atg to work properly. It lays down glue, then it is a big strand of glue from the paper to the gun, it snaps, then I get a sticky ball. 2/10 times it lays down a strip properly. Help!
@PrairiePaperandInk10 жыл бұрын
You basically make a checkmark motion when releasing the trigger and lifting the ATG from the paper - that breaks off the line of adhesive :)
@drimmune10 жыл бұрын
Also, there is a best time to release the trigger, so experiment a bit with letting it go a tad sooner (or later).

Do you know if the plastic refill cartridge for the pink & green Craft Pro is recyclable? I have the Pink Scotch ATG and bought it for $24.95 at Micheal's with a 40% off coupon, PLUS the ATG comes with 2 rolls of tape refill and those lasted a long time. Even if you put the plastic in recycling, you don't know if these bits are really getting recycled or not. Plus, there is a waste of putting energy into collecting, shipping, and recycling a bit of plastic trash when you could just not use it in the first place.
