I believe she originally did headless people because she wanted people to be able to put their own ideas of what the heads should look like and what the people’s emotions should be on their faces instead of creating it already for those who read with the deck. I’ve heard tarot readers discuss the emotions that a creator puts onto the faces of people in a tarot deck and how it can be hard to see past it or they overly focus on it. She wanted people to be more free to decide what felt right and what emotion you felt wasn’t because of what she placed onto a persons face in the card. I hope that all makes sense and that I reiterated that correctly. I’ve been a huge fan of this deck and her art since I began reading q0 years ago. I have 2 OG Sakki-sakki decks and I plan on getting 2 of this version lol thank you so much for doing a flip through and comparison!

I've been lusting after this deck for a few years now, obviously I would love to get my hands on the first edition, but I just ordered the current version of the deck. That being said, I get why I love this art style, which is weird considering most of my friends think I'm into goth stuff (not saying I'm not, but I'm not limited to that). It reminds me of Tarot Piatnik Wien, which is one of my most prized decks. Thanks for the comparison video, very useful!

I came here to air my grievances. I love this deck and I moved mountains to get the 1st edition in late 2021, and I’ve followed this new edition since she first started teasing it. I really like a a lot of the artistic changes to most of the cards, and I even don’t hate the addition of heads, despite really appreciating that aspect of the original deck. The Two of Cups is a great example of how these changes add to the deck instead of taking away. But that’s where my appreciation ends. The two modern elements that were added - 3D glasses on the Chariot and the digital camera on the Nine of Coins really cheapens the deck in a way I’m struggling to forgive. I prefer the narrower shape of the original cards and how the texture of the cards feel in my hand - with the new deck my hands are telling me the cards are glossy without them looking like they’re glossy. I really don’t like how cheap the cardstock feels and how easily it bends without snapping back to shape. She went on and on about how nice the cardstock is and I can’t more strongly disagree. I know the 1st edition prints were basically perforated punch-out style leaving little bits behind on the edges, and I still would have preferred that to whatever this is. I feel duped for having spent so much money on this deck, I assumed the cardstock would feel premium so I didn’t hesitate to spend $80. But yikes. I have mass market decks with better cardstock. I’m very glad I got the last reasonably priced original before the value skyrocketed overnight. I hope others like it, but I’m sticking to the originals and will probably sell this new deck

Great to see a comparison. I just have the new deck and am glad to have heads, although I love Monicka’s idea behind leaving the heads off in the the original. The art style and colourings totally appeal to me. I think it’s going to become a firm favourite of mine. Thanks for getting this video out so quickly! I always love your channel

Thanks for the comparison. I do like the slightly larger size and especially like the addition of heads. I remember that the book was well written but that was many moons ago.

I’ve been waiting for someone to do a side by side comparison of the two versions. I just received the 2nd edition and was curious what changes were made. Thank you!
