The Manix 2XL is the best EDC I've ever had & has been in my pocket for 6 yrs now. You can grip & hold the Manix2xl in a bunch more positions than this guy show's. You can deploy with the ball bearing lock more ways than the compression lock , it's also self adjusting. I ❤the Manix 2XL 💯🔥❗

Agreed . Manix 2 lw , xl or standard g10 scales plus sprint runs with a lynch clip are amazing. I think the military is a Glesser favorite and the public loves the name "military" in a knife. But the manix 2 in all configurations including the local back is my top knife ! Thanks for the great reviews.

The name doesn’t mean shit. The Military is a better knife for the majority of owners and the proof is in the sales.

I know the pocket clip is only tip up for the Manix XL but do you know if the pocket clip holes are the same in a regular size manix 2 ?

I have delayed getting the Spyderco Manix 2 due to a few reviews highlighting quality control problems. Maybe it has been sorted out.

If you have a Military that develops up & down play take the knife apart and carefully tweak the locking arm slightly to get a little more of a stronger lock up. It doesn't take much. Reassemble and you'll find all the blade play is gone. ZERO blade play. I did this to my first run military. Bought it when the military first went on sale. Now she's like new.

Manix 2 XL hands down. Nothing against the Military, it's great, but the M2XL one of the best folding knives EVER made.

Or despite what you think because you are biased towards the XL, the Military is just a better knife for the majority of owners. Fads have absolutely nothing to do with it at this point. The Military outsells the XL because it’s a better knife

I had both and I ended up selling the military and buying a CF S90V Mannix xl. I love carring the S30v And playing with the S90V. Just the looks alone turned me off to the Military. Mannix 2 XL is just a better looking knife because of it's proportions. It also feels more solid in the hand. I really don't understand the obsession with weight. If it's too heavy for your pocket take all the change out. Manix 2 XL is a beauty, it looks great and feels solid. I recently acquired a Military camo clone. It came with the whole Lot that I bought and it never made it into my pocket. I don't buy clones, If I can't afford the real one I have 60 other Knives to occupy my time. Bottom line is the cloned military is on my desk It gets used to open mail and to practice sharpening on. I also never understood why the Military was so much more than The Military. I like the Para 2 alot, it's proportions are perfect and so is the Mannix 2. It's always tough for me to decide so I will carry the XL with a Para 2. I always carry two. one EDC and a second which needs to be more tactical and heavier duty. My choice between the two will always be the XL. There is one Military I wouldn't mind owning, the CF framelock but they are very hard to find.

@@TheBigToe69 3 years have passed since that was written and many knives have passed through my hands since. The XL is gone and a Spartan took its place. PM2 was upgraded para3 joined its ranks. A couple of TRM’s and CRK’S are in the mix. The clone was used for sharpening exercises and only a sliver was left. I no longer critique knives because a close friend does it on you tube. By the way he never the military either, his knife of choice is a Hinderer. Not my cup of tea and I still have my 0562 CF if I ever do get a Hinderer itch I’ll carry my ZT.
