I don't mean to sound sarcastic here, but yes I can. I can do that right here in this answer, as a matter of fact. Here goes: The Military is a well-though-out, perfectly executed soldier blade, well-suited as a weapon and a utility knife, lightweight and built to exacting tolerances from extremely high-quality materials. It's a masterpiece. The Resilience is a similarly sized Chinese toy, of slightly better quality than most Chinese junk, with a Spydie logo on it. That oughtta cover it :)

The liner is so thin, not much surface for the lock, even the new one with compression lock still has nothing military about it. He was designing foldable kitchen knives, utility blades with ergonomic handles… currently you get a Chinese knife that is more sturdy for a fraction of the price… the military is too long for its thickness, and with the gimmicky hole, it’ll snap from any lateral force…but spydies are great for edc… I have a manix2 with custom raindrop cf scales, I have a pm2 in m4 with the fat carbon lava flow handle…and I have my trusty endura4 in k390… but the truth is that spyderco are grossly overpriced for the quality and design … and military is most definitely not a military knife

repeat viewer here! i'm even more impressed with this knife over a length of time. i'd like to get my hands on a lefty as well. seems even though they make the thumbholes ambidextrous that the locks rarely are. being a lefty in a righty world, i have adapted well. i had at one point a victorinox soldier that was a lefty that i had a hard time getting used to.

i've had the military in cpm cruwear for a little over three weeks, putting it to work as my edc and though i didn't like it at first for its size, i like it for its cutting ability and its edge retention. it's fast becoming my favorite.

Thanks for the view and the comment, fellow infidel! That's an interesting perspective on the Millie. I suppose if you like large folders and have small hands, tip-down does work well. I have medium to large hands, and with a handle as long as the Millie, I actually prefer this tip-down configuration, as it would be a pretty long reach down into the pocket if it were tip-up. Generally, I prefer tip-up, and almost didn't buy a Millie for that reason, but now I absolutely love it!

This is my favorite knife of all time. I edc it for more then six years now. I have small hands and can't stand carrying tip-up. So I don't. Unfortunately that rules out almost all high-end folding knives. Subbed. Kind infidel regards from Amsterdam

Hey Rob, I'm left handed and I absolutely love this knife. I carried it with me everywhere(except flying) for last five years. Unfortunately, I miss placed it some weeks back. I've looked high and low for it, without luck. I asked Spyderco if they knew of any place I could find a replacement. But because it has been discontinued for awhile now, they said my best chance of finding one would be talking with retailers. I'm think ing you would be a better choice to ask for help in finding another one. Do you know where I might find another Spyderco Left Hand Military 4" S30V Satin Plain Blade, G10 Handles - C36GPLE? Thanks, Joe

Coming back to this for another watch, as I contemplate the beautiful Jade handled BladeHQ exclusive Military with M4 steel. I really like the idea of a big 4" folder for camping duty. I'm torn between this and a BM Crooked River to fill the "Big Folder" craving I'm having. I'm more of a BM guy usually, but that Jade handled military is really nice looking.

Chris Dinardo Off the top of my head... in no particular order... Cold Steel Recon 1, Benchmade 710, Benchmade Presidio II. My criteria are fast for obvious reasons, strong lock -- you never know when you'll stab a bone, a blade length at or near 4", and a traction plan that affords a secure grip and some hand protection.

Rob how would I go about shipping my Spyderco Military 52100 for sharpening? I've tried to sharpen it on a Spyderco sharp maker. It just came worse than when I started. This steel is a real disappointment. I've used my sharp maker on numerous other steels with no problems. Please help. Mike.

Is that the left hand model? I noticed you used your left hand the whole video, and the location of the clip. I'm looking at picking one up, and if that's the location of the clip, that's OK for me, being a lefty and all.

Hello ...mine is not left handed but looks exactly like that otherwise, smaller lanyard hole and mid-placed back spacer. But new ones look different, are there different versions? I din't mean handle colors or steel but rather construction? Or is mine just an early version? Thanks...

The answer to that question is an enthusiastic "YES!" LOL! But seriously, they are completely different knives for completely different applications. The Bradley is a dedicated cutter/slicer, best suited for fine wood cutting and utility. The Millie is also a fair utility blade, although a bit large, but primarily a large lightweight tactical knife. Both are excellent in their designed roles.

Thanks for watching, and for the comment, Harvickfan :). I can recommend without hesitation, that next time you have $120 in your knife budget, you should spend it on a Millie if you don't already have one. It's an absolute staple in my collection. Go for it, my friend!

I don't understand the 'fellow infidel', but maybe that's because I'm lost in translation. My 'kind infidel regards' were ment as a silly joke since I'm an atheist so 'one without faith' ;) But I guess it's hard to be funny in a foreign language lol. Anyway, last year I bought the Knife Works Exclusive Carbon Fiber M390 Millie which kicked my standard S30V Millie out my pocket. That steel is freaking awesome. And the C/F is gorgeous. Can't recommend it enough! Kind regards from Amsterdam again

Absolutely not correct, my friend. 40 or 50 years ago, when stainless steels began to be used in knife making, it was true that they did not take as keen an edge and were much harder to sharpen than carbon steels. But today's high-tech stainless steels in the knife world are engineered to perform in knives. The knife featured in this video is a great example. Crucible CPM S30V is a powdered metal stainless steel with good grindability, great rust resistance, edge-holding and sharpenability.

Sorry, my friend... must be a bit of a language barrier. I don't know if you know this, but we Americans, along with every non-muslim person on the earth are spoken of by muslims in the middle east as "infidels." So while you and I might not share the same faith, we can take comfort in the fact that we're both equally despised by radical Islam as infidels. I apologize for assuming that connotation from what you wrote. That said, congratulations on your CF M390 Millie, my friend!

Study harder, sir. The Quran carries with it a rule of interpretation, the need for which arises from its repeated contradictions of itself. That rule requires the student to regard as true any statement or doctrine which contradicts one written in an earlier time, thus rendering obsolete the earlier, presumably incorrect statement or doctrine. Regarding infidels, the most recent Quran doctrine requires infidels who will not believe muslim doctrine to be exterminated.
