@@shown2grow737 I love my truck immensely, however it does have SOME issues. The main ones being a water leak coming from either the rear window or the back glass. It also has some weird electrical issues like the “Door ajar” light being on despite the door being closed, also recently the “Check Fuel Cap” message comes on even though I have already replaced the fuel cap a few months ago. Also the check engine light comes on as a result of the fuel cap issue. I know it needs shocks as well as maybe struts. It also appears to be burn some oil but I do not see or smell any burning oil. I just have to take some time and go through it. It’s 20 years old for crying out loud haha I paid $6,000 for it (yes I know I over paid but it was a BHPH lot (Buy Here Pay Here) and it was last year when ALL VEHICLES WERE AND STILL ARE OVERPRICED JUST LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE THANKS TO CURRENT REGIME IN THE WHITE HOUSE. I do LOVE that 5.4L V8 and the truck overall!!!

Buying 03 today. thank you for the video very in depth
@0rnery Жыл бұрын
I'm buying an '03 today! How's yours holding up? After owning an 06 Explorer for the last ten years, I specifically wanted the 5.4L 2V. But, I'm disappointed in the number of features missing in the Eddie Bower trim of this year. No heated seats, no navigation... Seems that trim was just a starting point for options. Ours is being shipped from S. Carolina to us in Cleveland. Haven't seen it in person yet. 119K, so I'm hoping she's pretty well intact. Got big plans for a thorough detail, rust proof, and tune up. Betting plugs (and everything else) are still original, but we'll see...

The reason why they look different on top of the engine is one 5.4 is a 2 valve version while the other is the 3 valve engine, there’s a big difference in horsepower between the two, the 5.4 2 valve only put out 260 horsepower while the 3 valve makes 310 horsepower in 2013, if you miss any service intervals with that 2013 the 2 valve will live a lot longer then the 3 valve

What I didn't know is that the 2011 3rd Generation Ford Expedition SUV'S how did the XLT Premium replaces the Eddie Bauer edition models
@mojorisin73175 ай бұрын
I own a 2011 XLT premium with 250k miles on it. Only run full synthetic and change all fluids before necessary. They really run forever if maintained properly. The extended model will feel quicker as it as a 3.73 rear end vs a 3.31 for the regular sized version. These vehicles are easy to work on if necessary and are a beast in the snow and tow a whopping 9k lbs. I would definitely recommend if a big suv is needed especially over a Tahoe and Armada which are plaqued with problems. I've talked to numerous owners of these vehicles and they have many issues to complain about. Only the Sequoia is a admirable replacement. If only Ford put the 5.0 V8 motor instead of the ecoboost 6 cylinder. The 5.4 is a great standard motor for the time but Ford should have offered the 6.2 as a option and standard in the Navigator. Most people that own big suvs like trucks are not primarily concerned with fuel economy as they are about power, comfort, driveability, visibility, towing and storage.

The 04 5.4 is a dual overhead cam and from 07 and up the 5.4 switched to single overhead cam. That's why they look different 👍
@truevtx1800rider3 жыл бұрын
They never put the DOHC in the expedition. Those were in Lincoln navigators. The ‘04 is 16 valve(2v per cylinder). The ‘13 is a 24 valve(3v per cylinder) with variable cam timing. They are both single over head cam(SOHC). The ‘04 also has the old 4 speed transmission. The ‘13 has a newer 6 speed transmission.

I tell ya. I owned a 2003 expedition w/130k. It was good. I owned a 2005 aviator w/120k. A bomb 💣 One owner with all service records immaculate but it was the biggest piece of shit. Then I bought for $700 a 2002 Chevy suburban that my brother-in-law bought new. It had 240 K and it was the best truck I’ve ever owned. It leaked a little oil but it did not require any repairs while I owned it
