Watched with my 5 year old daughter this weekend. When you fell on beam I said to her “see what Chellsie did? She fell. She smiled. She got back up. She didn’t dwell, she moved on. Everyone - even the big girls, fall. It’s what you do after that counts the most.” My daughter took it all in, and smiled “I know Mama, Chellsie says gymnastics is all about having fun. And that’s what I want to do too!” Thanks Chellsie, for showing the love of the sport and how to get up after you fall ♥️

Your persistance and fortitude come what may is an inspiration for all of us. Whatever happens, whatever you do going forward, I'm a forever fan! I'm one of the ghost-watchers in the sense that I very rarely comment, but... I was among the people on twitter who, more than a year ago now, when you were still doing Chellsie Challenges and trying combo ideas for fun, occasionally replied to or quoted your videos with some mostly joking (but also a tiny percent serious, in a stupidly hopeful, "just imagine if" kind of way) comments about how you could TOTALLY come back to competition, and to all of us teasing you with this, you replied with thanks and laughing emojis. And it was a fun dynamic; and I didn't let myself get my hopes up. And then you started documenting your adult gymnastics journey on youtube, and I started watching every episode the week it comes out because watching a former elite do gymnastics again just for the love of it is bringing me so much joy I can't even describe it. And then it kept happening; first you said it was not a comeback but also it might be, and maybe I was screaming a little, and then you said it was an actual comeback (and this time I was definitely crying in front of my screen), and then... And then I was watching you vault at the US classics, through someone's livestream because US gymnastics tends to air on stuff that isn't easily accessible from Europe, and it was that moment of damn. That actually just happened. (If it feels like this for us who've been following along your journey, I can only imagine what it must have been like for you !) As someone who set foot in a gym for the first time at 18, after being stuck my entire teenage years wearing a back brace for a double scoliosis (genetics is a fun lottery), and took great joy in proving wrong everyone who told me that starting gymnastics as an adult -- especially with my history, considering that at 17 I could end up in tears just from standing for a few hours because my back was that fucked up -- was nothing short of insanity, I can't even tell you what a joy it's been to see you, step after step after step, prove wrong everyone who thinks gymnastics (/especially/ at higher levels) is solely a kid's sport. Beyond what this comeback is and means for you, it's also going to change the way people perceive gymnastics for the better, and on a large scale at that. And I'm genuinely so thankful about it. So, what I really want to say is: CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING IT TO THIS POINT!!!!! And I cannot wait to see where this journey takes you in the future, wherever that is :D (And also, @ 2020 me: sometimes, very rarely but sometimes, stupidly hopeful "what ifs" actually do turn into reality. And oh my god, how much pure, unadulterated joy do they bring with them when they do!)

Chellsie, I have never been more proud of someone I have never met, but man... I was nervous, and just like your lil sister, the minute you landed that vault I just sobbed and felt such joy. The amount of courage it takes to get up there on that podium and do that is impressive and inspiring. I am in my 40s now with 2 teenage sons, but in my younger years I was a dancer & cheerleader. When I was 34 I got back into peak shape again and started dancing again, taking all kinds of classes (hip hop, lyrical, ballet) at my friend's studio. I was having the time of my life falling back in love with dance all over again...aching joints and everything. First she convinced me to do a ballet dance recital on stage with the rest of her dance classes and then she somehow convinced me to tryout for a semipro dance team. I had never been more nervous in my entire life, I knew I probably didn't have a chance in hell, but I got out there with all these 18 and 19 year old girls and danced my heart out. I didn't make the team, but I made it through tryouts and 3 rounds of callbacks to the finals. and that was a big enough victory for me. The last 6 years have been a series of health issues that have stolen a lot of good years, but watching your comeback doing what you love, reminded me of my own journey and has brought me so much joy and hope... and slowly I am working on my health so I can dance again. Chellsie, you are remarkable and resilient, and I can't wait to see even more from you.

You'll get a great bars score! Your tkachevs are sky high. You pirouette right on top of the bar. Your toes are always pointed. You catch your pak without bent arms. You dismount with your chest up! The only things they can deduct are: pak angle, maybe 0.1 on some handstands, hop or step on the dismount but if you hit clean handstands and stick the dismount $$$$

Can you share how nationals are “made”? Contingent on classics? What does petition mean and who decides and how? Ty!
@AlyseRachel3 жыл бұрын
@@christinedreams8099 essentially, you either qualify with a minimum all around score at classics or winter cup, or there are also ways to qualify with certain scores for event specialists or at national team camps. In Chellsies case, she hadn't qualified yet and wasnt eligible to "normally" qualify at classics because she didnt do all around. But you can also petition to championships if you had an injury or special circumstance, and because Chellsie has such a bright history in gymnastics and is a former Olympian, her petition was accepted. Essentially the petition is always accepted if theres proof of the circumstance and the committee has reason to believe in you, which they of course do in Chellsies case. Hope that helps!

I’ve been waiting for thisssss! Was so excited to see you Chellsie! As a whole... seeing this sport I love so much back on TV as the real deal.. gets/got me emotional.. but as a 40 year old former gymnast... watching you come back, and to see all the respect coming at you from your community... really tore me up (in a good way). You are AMAZING!!! The love you have for the sport just oozes out of your soul Fetch!

This is my favorite video to date. I love the journey you are on and you have such an amazing family. I hope you keep posting about your journey even after competitions are over. Your updates are the highlight of my week.

My girls and I have so enjoyed your journey and you are an amazing inspiration! Both of my girls are previous competitive gymnasts and they have always believed their gymnastics careers would be done when they “aged out” and you have shown them they can still love their sport at so many levels. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us! Cheering you on and praying for great health and success!

Yay! I think you did great for first meet back in so long. You’ve gotten past the part of “do I really belong here?” And the answer from every direction is YES, YOU DO! Cant wait to see you at Nationals with that extra oomf to your confidence. ❤️

So frustrating that I don’t think I’ve ever seen you fall on the Arabian until the meet. that beam was definitely cursed for everyone though!
