@Fernahnda4 жыл бұрын
I doubt she had to worry about it much if she was stretching along with the kids she coached. My flexibility came back really fast when I started coaching. The big thing would be the strength to hit those positions while in motion.
@__Tiziana__4 жыл бұрын
@@Fernahnda Really? My coach was pretty average and she used to train her oversplits with us. In my limited experience, flexibility is quite difficult to improve: it requires dedication and patience, and you can't really focus on your own goals while you are worrying about someone else' safety/technique/posture. I agree with you, though: the most impressive thing about Chellsie's flexibility is the strength that supports it!
@Fernahnda4 жыл бұрын
Tiziana Miriam It takes a lot of work to develop flexibility the first time but it’s a lot easier to get it back after time off. I know pregnancy also tends to improve flexibility. I’d be curious to know if that flexibility sticks around after.

yet another reason why 'older' women's gymnastics should be the new thing ... aside from their bodies being stronger, and being outside the other side of puberty, far les need to 'worry' but fat and muscle (things even out more in your 20s, in terms of body balance) is the mental and emotional aspects - puberty / adolescence is such a hard time for anyone - add to the the pressure of a sport and being on the world stage, of feeling the need to please those around you. . More confidence, more power - being less able to be bullied by coaches who push too hard at the gymnasts'' detriment. more even power dynamic between coaches and gymnasts. I've said it so many times, but i really woudl LOVE to see a move towards actual WOMEN's gymnastics -where countries can enter an 'older' team, ie over aged 20 r even 25
