Ace, I'd say after watching this, people will remember you as a super good guy, I know I think that way. Thanks for telling your stories. I still have a few pictures I took of the Revellution Duster at Maple Grove in about 1973 when I was about 12 or 13.

When he was driving the McDonald's digger I was maybe 6 years old and I remember he asked "how ya doing buddy"? In a respectful manner. He was one of few that gave that kind of attention and respect to a young kid. Thanks ACE!

In the early 70's when I was 15 it was a party. A camping trip. And just one hell of a great time at Seattle. Seeing Ed and the others at 64 Funny Cars. Thanks Mr. McCulloch for the great times. May your wife rest in peace.

Gotta say the old race footage is just fantastic. Always loved drag racing. The one race that looks like the car sneezing off the line, and the blower gets spit out of the hole in the hood.....it just seems like the car is alive.

Great Story of a good man doing everything that had to be done, to make ends meet by doing what he knew best... He really seemed very devoted to his family... I had tears coming out of my eyes as he was describing how he put the welfare of his wife and his kids and grand kids at a very high priority... That is somebody who cares about the welfare of others who depend on him... A very good man with a big heart... A lot of times people do things that are not so nice to others when they are under a lot of pressure... I feel that Ed was often in that spot as being somebody who needed to come through financially and physically trying to be where he was needed for his family, but having to choose which one was the most important... A very tough position to be in... I can tell from how he now feels that these pressures often led up to things that he did in the oast, that he wished that he did not do... The music in this video is perfect to celebrate his life...Today is: 10/26/24...

I have met Ed several times over the last 40 to 50 years. Last last time was at the "March Meet" at Famoso. I believe Ed was the Grand Marshal that year. Ed is, and always has been a gentleman when I've been around him. Always a pleasure to see him and we've enjoyed his career in motorsports. Thank you Ed.

I've always been a BIG fan of the Ace. I was disappointed when he left professional drag racing. I knew he left for personal/family reasons but I didn't know the exact reason. I ran into the Ace in the pits in Pomona on Monday Feb 11th, 2019 during the rain make-up day for the 2019 Winternationals. I didn't talk with him for very long but I did get a chance to tell him that seeing him at the track was one of the highlights of my weekend in Pomona. One of the all time greatest guys in professional drag racing. Thanks for being YOU, Ed!

'the Ace'! I grew up in Boise, saw him race at Firebird a bunch and he was always my guy. Him and Bonin. I have probably been to a hundred National Events since and he's still the coolest guy there. I talked to his son Chip once at the Marriott in Ontario, CA during the Finals and I said to him how immaculate Ed's operation and how spotless everything was and Chip said to me...."who do you think had to polish and clean everything!" McCulloch was awesome!

nice but.... You always miss what I consider a HUGE part of what makes these guys interesting - their memories, thoughts and insight to their peers. And I'm not talking about modern era crap, I'm talking only the great years - 1962-1985 (funnycar, 1962-1971 top fuel). Why could you not ask Ace about Jungle, Foster, The Chi-Town guys, etc?? He's one of the last ones living, and at 79 still very lucid! Please - make a part 2 with that in mind. THANKS!
