Very nice recordings. Seems like the Cowichan fixed itself this year. The Inspiration's #2 end also sounds quite interesting. Did they sound the Kahlenberg at the same time as the horn announcement? It sounds like it cut off the announcement...

Thanks! Ive noticed in the past, the Cowichan sounds three tones on an occasion. I suspect either it’s a ‘sometimes’ thing, or perhaps they’re only pulling the lever two thirds of the way. The Inspiration has seemingly sounded different every day since late 2022 🤣 And yes, the announcement got cut off haha.

@@ncscapture1417 Perhaps the Cowichan has to do with how fast the pull the lever down. They have also started with the lever and finished with the button before, though this doesn't sound like it. The Spirit of BC was very sneaky with the Kahlenbergs this summer too, every time I heard it this summer there was no announcement whatsoever! One time they sounded the standard horn really early when entering the pass, then randomly sounded the Kahlenberg off Mary Anne Point with no warning! Nice you got a good recording of it.

@@ollieboy4817 That could definitely be a contributing factor too... out of many I'm sure. I've noticed all whistles sound at a higher pitch during the summer, perhaps from heat or humidity, that could be part of it too. I consider myself lucky to have captured the Kahlenberg Whistle either way... that is funny though.

The first one is the original one, and best one , they used to have it in GM place (currently Roger's Arena) for when the Canucks scored a goal but some condo dwelling whiners complained and they removed it.......😢
