In 2004 I had a WPW attack and was rushed to the ER. They tried to get my heartbeat down from over 300bpm. As a last resort the doctor had to stop my heart..kill me and shock me back to life. As soon as I saw the line go flat I had a out of body experience. I lifted slowly to the ceiling of the room as they prepared to zap me. The first and then 2nd jolt had no effect. As they prepared for the 3rd zap the doctor said please lord bring him back and shocked me again. I was instantly back in my body, as I opened my eyes my heartbeat was at 80bpm. I looked up at the doctor and nurses and said you had to zap me 3 times. The doc said how did I know that? I told him how I was in the air above them, even told them how the 1 nurse put my foot back on the table after jolt 2. Every one in the room was amazed. It changed me forever. There is more then just this reality I'm sure of it.

I am a retired minister and science buff. I've never seen science and religion as incompatible. Observation (our senses) tells us what. Religion tells us Who. Science tells us how. Philosophy tells us why. Art interprets them all and presents them in a relatable form to be observed (back to our senses).
@andreaberryhill66547 ай бұрын
Beautifully stated!

I always thought that science and scientists (if they're completely honest and open minded about the evidence) explore and discover the ways of The Creator, and how intricate and complex his creation really is, especially in the verse, ".... to rule the night: He made the stars also". Such a vague finish, but God explains their purpose. However it is for man to seek the ways of God, it's just that throughout history, man discovers something and instead of placing the piece of the puzzle into the Bible that fits so perfectly, they cram the piece into their science books, deforming, manipulating and sometimes breaking the evidence to make it look as if it fits into this idea of evolution. Problem is everytime they cram one piece in, the next piece has to be distorted and deformed even more.

I just finished a humanities college course where we learned the importance of art and how it contributes to society and world view of different times. I was reading some information exactly what you said about which explains "who," "why," and so on. Your ideas make a lot of sense. I don't believe in God to a fault. I do believe pretty much anything is possible, though. I think there's way too much we don't know and can't prove. Maybe the God many of us imagine is as AJ said earlier on. Maybe "ghosts" or "angels" we see are something completely different. This is why is makes me mad when people confidently dismiss others' views and beliefs (I tend to see this with much of the Christian belief system online, more than other religions or beliefs). We just don't know. That's why they're "beliefs." The fact that all of this are different components of the same truth would be interesting and make some sense.
@Barryislarge7 ай бұрын
Science always winds up returning to faith imo! You can't give a human answer to prove a human framework and say "this is provably true"! It's like saying "I know it to be true, because I said so". Baudrillard and Gödel talk about this in length. There must be an outside perspective to verify things. It's why things always break down eventually to "we don't know yet"!

It popped up at this time cause I Work for God and god is making me question reality. Not really, it’s just another asinine sign God sends me. I’m really sick of running these errands for God cause I have to experience human suffering prior to the rapture. One ridiculous activity is working out 5 hours a day and not losing weight while eating minimally. Its literally just to tick of the human suffering boxes. Also you have a rabbit on your profile cause there is a dumb rabbit vs cat theme in the lessons for the past 3 months. It’s very annoying how God controls the minds of people to send me signs. I also keep having to leave the gym cause I do some weird inexplicable act of strength or speed and people start to stare. I broke a treadmill the other day and bounced… I’m just venting, who knew working for God is so damn boring.

As a kid in the 80s, I had a "revolutionary" idea about living in a simulation and dreamed of writing a book and making a movie about it. It's fascinating to see that many had the same idea long before me and now, 30 years later, it's a widely accepted possibility. This convergence of thought highlights our shared curiosity and the power of human imagination.

Thomas Edison believed that ideas, especially innovative ideas were periodically "made available" in some sort of subconscious aether. These ideas can be accessed by anyone. The trick to being a successful inventor/creator was to tune into these ideas, or at least act on them before anyone else. He believed this explains why inventions can appear around the same time around the globe with no connection or communication between inventors. He also believed that "tuning in" was best accomplished during sleep dreaming, which is why Edison took "cat naps" throughout the day rather than sleeping a straight 8 hours.

AJ, I've said it before but its worth repeating. Your show is the best of all on the internet. Now, to solve an issue for you. Jaws girlfriend from Moonraker had braces when either the trailer or test footage was shot, but had them removed just before filming the movie. The actress that played her is where I learned it when in an interview she was asked about it.
