To grind a little faster after level 5 and before level 10 in alchemy, you can abuse the "Trial and error" perk. It allows you to make more mistakes, so for example, you can brew the marigold decoction without even boiling the water. The same goes for the poison, you can brew it without boiling the oil. It saves a bit of time and makes the grind a bit less tedious, you just drop the herbs in the cauldron and use the phial on it.

No, Henry is not "slow about that". In the Middle Ages only nobles and scribes were able to read. Henry is a commoner, a peasant, and as such had no access to learn how to read.
@BarokaiRein4 жыл бұрын
This is false. People weren't illiterate by our standards back then, but they were by their own. What do I mean by this? Well even most peasants could read and write their own language, but if they couldn't read the bible, which was written exclusively in Latin they were considered illiterate. The idea is that if you can't read "the most important book in the world" you can't read at all. Also in some areas of medieval england you had to not only read and write latin but also french on top of english to be considered literate. The common misconception about people being illiterate back then has been disproven several times over the years. Like just for example we have proof that peasants writing letters to each other was common practice. Also the amount of books that were essentially farming manuals is quite staggering.

@@mrst8372 it’s pretty safe to assume letters were written on paper, which is something that would biodegrade very quickly. I doubt people were storing any large amount of letters written by common people in a proper place, so there probably isn’t a large proportion of all the letters written at the time that survive. Who is to say to that common folk didn’t teach their own children and others in their community how to read and or write without a schoolhouse? I think it’s not safe to assume at all that schools were prevalent in history like they are today.

@@colt547 Paper? There was literally no paper during the Middle Ages in Europe, until around 1400 becoming relatively available. All books, more precisely, "codices", were hand-written on parchment. Therefore, books were rare and very expensive, and most people cannot afford to learn how to read. Massive printing press was relatively available around 1450. Though the period still could be defined as the Middle Ages, it is not the common impression of the concept. Nowadays, there are lots of monographs about this topic, such as, a book about the codices by the Oxford University Press. Literacy rates during the Middle Ages is very low, it is a solid conclusion. By the way, depending on how to define literacy, even today, there are probably millions of American adults who can not read these comments fluently. In case of evidences needed, U.S. Department of Education provides survey results and data.

Instead of waiting to put the marigold in one at a time, just put it in the plate next to the mortar. Lets you add as many herbs as you like to it, ground or not, and allows you to mix it. Say you have a recipe that calls for 4 herbs, and 2 of them are the same, and one is ground, you can put the 3 unground herbs in there, and grind the ones that need it and empty the mortar onto the plate and you're good. Can just grab the plate and empty it into the cauldron. Also, boiling isn't always necessary. Marigold Decoction is a perfect example actually. You just needa boil it once according to the recipe. Instead of doing that.. Just pour water, put every herb into the plate, empty the plate into the cauldron, pour into the bottle. Done Reason this works is that you can skip 1 step by default (Boiling for multiple turns is still 1 step) and you can get Trial and Error to skip 1 more. So if you needa boil a potion 2 seperate times and you have that perk, just simply.. Don't boil it. You don't need to. Much faster

Routine I and Routine II is great. But: you only get 4 exp instead of 40 exp per potion. If you skip cooking, you can brew an easy potion withing around 65s for 40exp, needing only 3 herbs. Of course, you can cook like 40-60exp in that time by auto brew, giving you a lot of potions, BUT you need like 30-40 herbs. So I don't agree. For leveling, doing it by hand it is better. It saves herbs and it makes more fun.

There's also a fk ton east on way to stud farm, on the open plains , few pick ups & you have 1000 in inventory

But I still agree: for making money routine I and II and autobrew is great.

I juss started spamming the Lazarus potion, gives you way more health then marigold and you dont need to boil/grind just distill and boom 3 potions that get 100 health
@solaire7736 жыл бұрын
For routine to work you gotta make the potion manually at least once beforehand

Great video. I am almost to lv 9 and have a nice start on weapons and a helmet,, all thanks to picking flowers making potions and selling all the hard work. It is slow but worth the time. I have to say this video is great. Thanks

Fast way to brew the mari potion. Add the nettle and the 2 marigolds in the dish, next hit the bellows 4 times to get the water boiling, then add the contents of the dish into the boiling water, and finally grab the phial and use it on the cauldron. You're done.
@martinspukitis50592 жыл бұрын
The fast way is to not boil at all. Just throw in the ingredients and use phial. Done.

I believe Routine II still costs 3 separate ingredients costs. You just make 3 at a time.
@Roland597 Жыл бұрын
Correct. Routine also gives significantly less experience than brewing. Not sure about the double brewing perk, where you get an extra potion. Also the potion value effects experience, so marigolds are pretty decent, better than spirits or the cheaper "food" potions.

i saw your last bit about the merchant sell value but you are wrong. charisma doesn't affect prices AT ALL. i took off all my clothes and i still got the same prices. it's all dependant on reputation. sell value = value * (Rep/200) -> savious schnapps is value 100 -> 38/200 = 19. pretty close to the 17.2

If you already have a horse go to rattay into the armory behind the church. No guards and lots of valuable weapons, many of them in the open, not even in a chest. Grab all of them and immediatelly transfer them to your horse so you are not affected by the overweight.

How many bottles does it take to get to level 10?
@christopherpinkard69796 жыл бұрын
Sometimes after manually crafting for the first time, especially with poisons, I'm not able to autobrew them. I have the ingredients, I can make them manually, but the auto-brew is disabled for them. I wonder if I didn't get a perfect brew the first time?
@olonewolf6 жыл бұрын
Auto brew is a perk at level 15 I think for alchemy skill tree.

I'm hoping someone can help me here. I'm lvl9 with lvl20 in herb and lvl7 in reading. I can't get in the door on the side to the alchemist shop it's locked, I can open it but get caught. Above ledetchko I'm able to go in her but but nothing gives me a prompt to use. Also by neuhof when trying to get inside it tells me I'm in a private area. So what am I missing? I paid my debts at the beginning and have a good rep in rattey. Also I have not updated the game, just took it out of the case and started playing. Again any ideas on what's going wrong here?

He aint slow that way. He is a peasant. Even nobles didn't know how to read in many cases. They held themselves a scribe or monk for that. And peasant did not have any need for reading or writing. Unless you are a merchant that is.

Can you brew in batch? Like brewing with 16 bellodana and 8 nettle will give 8 save potion?
@HurriShane006 жыл бұрын
Might know this by now (but for new people to the game) You can't brew a whole bunch at once
@edersonnico2 жыл бұрын
No, but each brew gives 3 pot (4 with a perk) instead of 1 if everything is done right.
