Blend Exposures seamlessly with the luminosity masking panel bit.ly/3dpGeub.
Get Color Efex Pro as part of the Nik Collection bit.ly/nik-col... It has a detail enhancer, local and global contrast enhancer all of which can be applied as part of a preset to quickly level up your architectural photography. Alternatively, bit.ly/Luminar... does a great job of image enhancement too.
This tutorial shows a complete workflow / walkthrough edit from a real architectural photography shoot. We'll look at:
Basic processing in Lightroom
Creating higher quality images with HDR merge
Combining exposures for optimum quality and removing lens flare
Retouching distractions and cleaning the image (cloning etc.)
Image and architecture enhancements with ColorEfex Pro
Contrast refinements in Photoshop
Image comparison.
I've tried to cover everything in detail for you, but any questions please fire away in the comments. I'm happy to help. Other video requests are welcome too!

I'm "sitting" on an exterior shot right now and all I can think is "my client needs this now and not tomorrow" lol. I wish I had that luxury sometimes :) Your videos are the best mate. Keep em' coming! Cheers!

Funnily enough I've just had to get 10 exteriors back to a client this afternoon. 1hr of processing and done. I think it's just about having different techniques and approaches to call on for different situations (and budgets). Today's images barely left lightroom.

This is really helpful, I'm trying to take my editing up a level for property photographs, never really been to in to sky replacement but that soft cloud placement really makes this something special.

Thank you very much for all the knowledge that you share in your videos. I learned a lot from it. I recently purchased Nik Color Efex Pro and it would be awesome, if you could make a separate video about how you did your Architecture presets. Or did you already covered this topic in another video?

Anthony! Love your videos! As an aspiring architectural photographer, your videos are golden. Thanks for putting this out there. I do have a question I'm trying to understand better. Especially when shooting interiors; How do you choose your aperture and what to focus on. Lens sweet spot? Hyperfocal Distance? Do you set your camera / lens ones and just role with it. Or do you adjust on every new angle?
@archiphoto
@archiphoto Жыл бұрын
Hi Niels. f8 and more often f11 are my go to apertures. Good depth of field and limited diffraction in the lenses I use. I tend to focus approximately 1/3 into the scene unless there's a specific reason for a different choice. Usually that results in acceptably sharp images throughout the frame.

@@archiphoto Love it. That bit of inside helps me a lot. As I am starting out with architectural photography with ambitions to become as good as a professional can be, I really want to get those photos as sharp as reasonably possible. And the topic seems to be a bit daunting as a beginner. But I guess it comes to lots of practice and testing and observing. And develop a feeling for it. But Anthony, I can't stress enough how much I love to watch your videos. I really appreciate the effort here. And I've learned already a lot from you. I won't forget about that once I start to get the gigs I aspire to shoot. ;)

Thanks for the videos, very informative with clear instructions. I've only recently started using wide angle lens and only done a few test shots. I noticed that when I take a shot of my living room, on an angle, that the in-build gas fire is being stretched a lot, something I don't see in your photos. I know that's what wide angle does, but for real estate property, I'm not sure that's right. Should I be straight on for these shots. Thanks You.

A lot of wide angle lenses are unusable. I use a canon 10-22 (crop) and it has minimal only minimal distortion at 22mm.

awesome videos! i just want to ask what may be a dumb question..if you have multiple photos, how would you go about editing them so they all have the same look? effects etc? as im new to this, when i edit multiple photo's i feel they always look so different

Hi. Start in Lightroom or similar raw editor - apply a preset that yields a consistent result. Tweak the exposure, colour balance, contrast etc so the set of photos feels cohesive. Then head into Photoshop for your finishing touches. The result should be a lovely set of homogenous images that works well together.

Hi Huw. Good question. I checked it out and unfortunately the code I was thinking of was for different software. Sorry. If you still think it's worth adding to your editing arsenal I'd really appreciate it if you'd still use my link. I get a small commission from it and that helps keep me buying coffee and staying caffeinated! 🤣💪☕️
