Only things I would do differently: I would put the floor supports on concrete footers. You can buy them individual ones at Home Depot, keeps everything off the ground. Here in Florida I also sunk concrete blocks and filled them with cement andput in straps to help hold it down. Last I would put a vapor barrier [plastic] between the floor supports and the ground. Mine has been around for 13 years and went through a hurricane.

Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.

You did a really simple, good job. The walls and roof match the full cuts of siding. The most tedious part of the building is roofing. I would go with a metal roof. I built one similar, however as I got into it my wife gave me several change orders like 1. two windows and a skylight 2. A steeper roof pitch for a loft 3. a front porch 4. drywall inside. 4. lastly 4' longer. My weekend project turned into a summer project

I would get ideas from home depot and steal the plans like China and our technology.

And the base rots away in a few years. Never put wood into the ground. Concrete piers are cheap and easy.
@MrBudcole5 жыл бұрын
Actually, you can put it into the ground as long as you put gravel around and below the wood, and the wood is treated. Water destroys wood - any system that allows water run-off is no more damaging than rain or snow. I have a 12x20 ground deck that has been completely stable for over 15 years, and I put the support members into channels just like this example, except I added the gravel before and after.
