It's beautiful. I wish I had known about the exterior oil when we converted our backyard garage here in Canada with cedar. Now it's a dark reddish colour on the South side, and gray on the Eastern side. We put vinyl siding on the other 2 sides, bc they aren't visible to us, just a steep hill, so didn't spend the extra money.

I didnt add any no. The vapour barrier should stop any moisture entering the roof from the room. Also, there is a gap between the soffit and wall, and the back of the cladding is open due to the battens. So in theory this should provide plenty of ventilation

No problem@@thediyfix . Can i ask a quick question. I'm about to do a 14ft by 14ft garden office and i was wondering if you can settle an issue i've been having. i was wanting to do a cement base but then the cost of it seemed way too much so i saw a ton of videos on youtube where the do the formwork and then use compacted stone ( 3/4 shale i think or aggregate) as a shed base. Can you tell me if that is a terrible idea ? do you see any issues with using that method instead of just a concrete base? any advice would be awesome.
@thediyfix11 ай бұрын
@@jamesmozzy I wouldnt like to advise on that type of base. The truth is I honestly dont know if that would be ok. What I will say is my base cost £383.18. This included ballast, cement, hardcore, hiring a mixer, and buying timber to create the formwork. I mixed it myself and this was far cheaper than having the concrete delivered.
