You're very welcome! Just keep in mind, that I forgot to mention, that only project64 up to version 1.6 is allowed for speedrunning

Ok I'm being honest about this. I just straight up forgot about this. Maybe I will make an updated tutorial. However, I submitted two runs to speedrun.com, that were done on project64 2.3 and they are still on the site today

yo just wanted to ask since you have a gamecube style stick which one you got? Is the stick kinda all hard plastic with a little hole in the middle? Or is it like a dark gray with no hole in the middle?

Yeah I forgot about this, but honestly I submitted 2 runs to speedrun.com, that were captured from project 64 2.3 and they both are still on the website today. I will maybe make a newer better version of this video

Hi, a very informative video, I would like to start speed running on Mac and I found that emulators are usually windows based. Is there a way to be able to speedrun officially using the 1.6 version? I have a pro switch controller, does that work on sm64 in emulator? Thank you in advance.

On Mac you cannot use project64. You need to get Mupen64Plus for Mac. And for your switch pro controller, you probably need a program that handles the inputs or use steam to configure it. Here is the download page for Mupen64Plus for Mac: github.com/mupen64plus/mupen64plus-core/releases/tag/2.5.9 Scroll down to the downloads and click on Mac version. Hope this helps!

I think switch pro controller is one of the best in general. So you shouldn't have any problems with it :D

Ok this all setting video is a mess. You didn't even change the default graphics plugging to GlideN64.

At least in my experience Glide64 was not really suitable for speedrunning. I only use Glide64, when I want to play a game with graphics mods. Otherwise the default plugin didn't cause any problems ever for speedrunning, much different than Glide64. I understand your point tho
