I just got the IM508 that only comes the XP200 programmer and thought XP 200 limits IM508 to Domestic and Asian vehicles. You are using the IM608 and I noticed your XP400 was powered on and plugged into your IM608, but there was no part in the process where I saw the XP400 being used. Does this OBD key programming (adding a new key to a system that has a working key) even require that you to have the XP400 plugged in during what you did or not?

For this year which only writes the information to the key, the XP200 is enough. Before VW and Audi restricted their servers to everyone, I did a 2015 VW Passat keyed with only my XP200. Key was aftermarket not OEM which already comes precoded

I know this is an older video, I was using my im508 on a 2014 rolls royce wraith with a RR5 cas4 system. Adding a key, Using smart selection it was unable to communicate with control unit. I was unable to complete the job. Any ideas? I'm in the USA

great, so you programmed the immobilizer chip inside the key. But what about getting the door locks/unlocks to work?

why do you need the doors to unlock. just leave it like that. it's ok to only program the immo

The key code is in the car info data.

@@tomking3942 not following. I am referring to the remote fob buttons functionality. What additional steps in order to get the remote fob functions to work (ie. Trunk release, door locks etc)

Very dangerous add key via obd on cas4 an Fem. But as see this cas4 had lots of keys add in mix if cas4 only has 2 key in it. Do it on bench

I had only two original keys added into the CAS, and added an additional aftermarket Amazon purchased key in slot #3 without complication. The issue i am having is that neither my original key nor my new key work to unlock doors or trunk. How do i program the unlock buttons. Wondering now if they are working properly but my vehicle antenna is dysfunctional. The central door locks work well, there is no codes in door unlocking control modules after full system scan .

@@mobitechaz if not working on remote. This can be few things. If car is bmw easte then wires are damaged in boot or airal, if not Easte BMW it's bad keys or wrong Remote frequency

It’s not his job to. The title says add a key to bmw not add a key and answer questions. Google is a powerful thing my friend. People naturally want to take the easy way out….you don’t learn locksmiting over night.
