Today I just wanted to give you guys a general idea for how the software operates - In the next vid I'll do a FULL explanation for all the details, so hang tight for that tutorial :) Cascadeur download link for anyone looking for it! cascadeur.com/blog/general/cascadeurs-release-version-is-now-available

Truly crazy how quickly you can through together a half decent looking animation!

I know right?? This is insane for anyone who's done it the old fashioned way lol

The program is great. It does not replace your job as animator, it speeds up the process filling the tedious in-between frames. You still need to know how to add keyframes properly otherwise the effect will look bad. And free version allows to work on animations up to 300 frames, more than enough for most general animations used for games like walk, run, reload, swing, etc.

Thank you for the video! Cascadeur is amazing but I wish a lot of these programs had the same controls for navigation etc, or at least have option to pick Maya, C4D, Blender, Unreal defaults etc. All the shortcuts are different and if you're like me, we use a LOT of different DCC and software and be nice to have controls we can use for them all.

Glad to see you covering this. I've looked at Cascadeur a bit and seen examples with other simple physics objects added. A character being struck with a projectile and reacting accordingly via physics sim for example. I'd also be interested in how to, if possible, have a character grab something with their hands for a grab and climb up ledge animation or similar. Looking forward to more on this.

Can you do a tutorial on animating custom quadruped models in this program? Like edited rigify models, completely custom rigs. There’s absolutely no tutorials for that.
@zenko418711 ай бұрын
Thanks for this, I was trying to link these things together and with the rigging tools in Unreal I was wondering if I could combine these two directly.

After seeing this demonstration, I think I'm partially convinced that this should be added to Blender (Or a fork of Blender) as a toggleable option.

Something new to learn... Makes me wonder why I bothered to learn how to manually animate and rig in blender... Can it generate root motion animations? And as always Thanks a Bunch for the impeccable as always content!!! stellar!!
@qadirqureshi780510 ай бұрын
Thank you, your tutorials are very helpful. I have a question: I create a rig for the mannequin in Blender for Unreal Engine, setting up a 3rd person view. If I make an animation in Cascadeur using the UE5 mannequin rig and import it into Unreal Engine as an FBX, will the animation apply directly to the character I've already set up for 3rd person view? If you have a tutorial on this, could you please suggest it?

I would love to see how to transfer or retarget Cascadeur animations into a blender rig
@darrennew821111 ай бұрын
This seems like the kind of program people should have been able to do years ago, just with a lot more work. I'm not sure what the AI needs to do vs just better simulation of the physics? And yeah, every time you said it, I was thinking "I've been pronouncing it like it's french this whole time." :-)
@DrStench13Ай бұрын
Have you had any luck with exporting files from UE5 to Cascadeur? The animation is always imported onto the character with 90 degrees rotation on X in world space. Even when I fix it in Maya first.

Is it possible to do the opposite? Taking an animation FROM unreal engine and edit in cascadeur?
@ryanjdevlin879 ай бұрын
Export the animation to fbx then import it to casceduer or just use control rig + sequencer essentially the interpolation is all your after and control rig can do just about as good of a job without leaving ue5 editor

How dare those filthy AI software devs make the pipeline so easy! Don't they care at all about how many years animators spent figuring out how to animate the hard way? What are they doing with their bar lowering shenanigans? How could they be so inconsiderate. Now people will be able to animate projects without the need to hire more animators and they will be able to do it in a shorter time period.
@sunny9917911 ай бұрын
it is subscription only or there is an demo version?

They already do that with mixamo/unreal/unity/ turbosquid models. You just probably have never noticed
@zixea331811 ай бұрын
Almost all indie unity and unreal games are a bunch of 5 dollar assets slapped together with a crappy UI with “realistic graphics” cranked up 100% so your pc fries.
