At long last the extension cables have gone and we have lighting and power in the cabin. Much of this work was to future proof the farm for other buildings and requirements so while not all necessary for the house, it all had to be done at some point. It's brilliant when working on the electric install and it happens so much quicker than expected/if we were doing it!

Discrimination is the practice of selecting protective devices and adjusting their settings in order to limit interruption to electrical installations under fault conditions. When the devices in a distribution path are ‘coordinated’ it reduces nuisance tripping and makes it easier to identify where a fault has occurred.

Very impressive electrics, must have been expensive I laid a 3 phase - 16mm 4 Core Armoured Cable 45 meters . . . dug the trench by hand - the cable was very heavy The volage drop with a kettle on the end is better than via a thinner wire to the kitchen . . . 0.5 volts better You are so fortunate have all the tools to do the job quickly

looking good 👍 Instead of the pull cord, I'd have considered a kinetic switch outside with the receiver on the inside. No physical connection between the halves and no pull cord 🙂 Going via the 80A board to end with a 63?A supply at the cabin sounds a bit tight with everything electric, especially if you're fitting an electric shower.

No electric shower or boiler now so just sockets lighting and small rads. Using kinetic switch in another video but hadn't thought of using one there, Still time as ceiling not up yet. 👍

They are Click deco, electricians sot them for us but I think Toolstation sell them,

How have you managed to install the wiring whilst not crossing the 2 halves of the cabin? Its something we had to really think about on our build.

Just different circuits that all join with connectors in an access panel. Forgot to show that so will do in future. All heavy duty appliances etc on same side as CU.

There are three alarms, smoke just outside that room, heat in kitchen and CO in living room plus another by boiler. 👍 Deafening as all interlinked. 😂
