Little tip: When you're putting out walls don't be afraid to knock other walls down! I see so many teammates leave up random walls that don't help and just get in the way😂😂 Wish you luck in your grind my friend! 🙂 WE ARE GROOT.

I just started playing with him and have been doing crazy numbers and never dying. My strategy has been to hide the healing wall somewhere out of sight but near the fight so it never breaks

You should also chain LMB with basic melee attack if close. Since his LMB is so slow you can slip it in without slowing your main fire

Something else to keep in mind is that your walls can and will be destroyed by the cart if you put it directly in the path or on top of it while it’s moving. I have put iron wall down too many times and had it get instantly destroyed by the cart or destructible environment

Like Strange, Groot has a quick melee cancel which does not slow down their primary fire _aside_ from the slower third hit knocking people upwards preparing their guts for the seed bomb. Enjoy the damage.

You can use the knockup from his 3rd melee attack to place a wall behind the opponent and hit LMB+RMB to burst before they can get away from the wall

main problem/s with groot is nothing balance wise. it's his walls getting insta deleted by things other than the enemy team. the environment like the payload will just delete the walls even when they aren't in the payloads way just near by. I'm pretty sure it uses the same detection as to check whether someone is on the payload or not. and if a wall is inside that zone it gets thanos snapped. the second most annoying thing is teammates being able to break your walls cause the amount of times I try to wall of their tank but my team misses the tank and breaks both of my walls letting the tank escape. And most of the time it's not the enemy team causing this as its only 1 or 2 of the enemy supports that could be shooting the walls but the walls break near instantly. sometimes it happens and it's a mix of both team just spamming down choke which isn't a big issue to me as that's the game even if the walls would stand a chance if my team couldn't destroy them. the most painful part of playing groot is the game making so every fucking little bit of cc cancels your fucking wall placement. you get punched, now you have to reactive the wall placement UI, you get rooted same again, you get pushed 1millimetre in any direction and it gets cancelled. it just makes me want to uninstall the game. idk what the devs smoked to chose to make any cc not just stuns or sleeps or other variations of stuns/sleeps like hulk's spit cancel things. it's not really just a groot thing but he's the one i have felt it the most then hulk cause your jumps charge get reset every time you get cc like with groots walls. they really need to remove that shit from the game. stuns, sleeps, whatever the fuck hulk's spit does those are fine to cancel stuff, annoying when spammed like peni can, but fine. but any little bit of knockback/displacement cancelling your shit is bullshit. it feels like it's the reason everything is unstoppable when ulting cause they didn't want all these ults to get cancelled when they are displaced. it's not a fucking moba displacements aren't hard cc in hero shoots. they are pretty good but they aren't the same as a stun.

I had a ranked game with 20k damage and 57k damage blocked. Groot is the man. PRO TIP, A well placed/ timed wall can block a Scarlett witch ult or iron man ult.

If I put a thorn wall down bad, like between us when I meant to box them in, that's when I use the nade. Or anytime someone is on the other side, I can damage them with the wall once before it's destroyed or I recall it.

These guides don't talk enough about his melee chain combos for insane burst damage. Especially if you're smashing someone against a wall, the wall doubles your damage so comboing melee and spore bombs between primary fire can melt tanks separated from their healers in seconds

quick pls pin this i jsut realised that if a charecter is on you but you cant kill them or your trying to place a thornlash to hit people then remeber it has a decent range and even if you miss it will help heres how 1 lets say you do place it behinid well then dead they are because it has a forgiving range so it is ez to use 2 lets say you place it infront of them well then you block them and spore bomb the side of the wall just past it to hit them then you might kill 3 it goes directly under them this is the worst but still good because it makes them go up and disrupts their patern
