To answer your question about extracting Timecode from the ATEM SDI Extreme ISO, I've successfully used a Blackmagic Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 12G for this. They have XLR analogue outputs and the right XLR can send out timecode. I use it to take timecode from an ATEM SDI Extreme ISO into our larger ATEM Broadcast 4M/E so that both run identical timecodes :) Hope this helps

Ah awesome, thanks! Was looking into Teranex adapters but wasn’t clear if any would send out time code. I also saw a post somewhere saying hyperdecks could potentially send time code out. Btw love your channel, your videos have been a huge resource. Also your F1 streaming setup is excellent

fiber hdmi go far more than SDI cables. If your cameras are hdmi there is no need for using converters for each camera and use the output only for camera control.

Ah interesting. How do you secure the connection so a kick or tug doesn't yank the HDMI out?

@@vp-land Of course the bnc connector is the best at locked structure, can be terminated from anywhere etc. but according to our experience from our video production works so far such a thing has never happened, of course the old long hdmi cables would be too thick so they could damage the hdmi socket but the new generation fiber cables are thinner and more successful. what i really mean is atem extreme sdi has 4 aux outputs 1 of which can be used as multiview and 1 of them as output for tv, recorder etc. at least, there are two outputs left. in practice we can only control 2 cameras remotely. but when it is hdmi both long distance and 8 cameras can be controlled remotely at the same time.

@vp-land at least on the pyxis, it's a locking connection

@@mesut4466 For your last note - you need a distribution amplifier, then you can control 8 cameras on SDI, I talk about that at 7:12
