An honorable mention addendum: for all the Oil needed for the repair kits it's handy to put a named T4 Alchemist in an Alchemist Bench. They can convert Bark and Ichor into 5 units of Oil. As a general rule I like to put my bases near Aloe and dead trees for the Bark.

Thanks Wak, I had a little of a tough time actually getting the gist of all of the crafters and benches when they first dropped. But Sparky and a few people in 1052 helped with my research into it all. I didn't like the change at first but I am ok with it now. It does make purge thralls inert in some aspects, they should at least add something to fighter and archer thralls, like more health or better damage rating. Glad to see you still doing content for this ageing game.

Once you've got a T3 or better blacksmith there's no reason to smelt steel anymore because of the resource savings, making the campaign bench definitely worth the space.

Nice to see confirmation on this stuff. I recently got back into the game and was confused because I thought flawless weapons were still in but now with added layer of thrall specialization complexity. Anyone got easy bladesmith spawns? I got like 3 tempersmiths and 2 edgesmiths already but still no bladesmith, even the guy called Merkel the bladesmith is an edgesmith - I wonder if it's a bug in his name or specialization.

I was confused too about no more flawless stuff. It makes 99% of old meta video's for gear useless. As for a blacksmith I got mine in the town in the far west, forgot the name. But in the town there is 5 spawn points at the very north of the town and more spread out 5 more in the south. You can use the interactive map to find the exact spawns I'm talking about and in the thrall video Wak made show's the spawns in that treasure hunter town.

It really does. I think it's a nice change though, it's faster than hunting for a specific t4 that only spawns in few places, sometimes at abysmal rates like the guy that made flawless hyperborean armor. However I think they should add an icon or short text in weapon/armor attributes to indicate who crafted it because right now it's impossible to tell weapon versions apart. I've been farming New Asgarth, I guess I'll try Sepermeru now like you suggested.

So basically if you play this you have to join a clan for best chance. And if or when this comes to console, dont do cross play between PC and consoles. Great video

Great guide. I do enjoy the heads up on what’s relevant. I’m not sure I enjoy having to build such a big base for all the benches. I usually focus on smaller secure bases and running around the map. Less farming and more playing.

Place campaign bench first then put walls if you have that issue just leave a small lip you shouldn't have a problem

which bench makes the iron reinforcements now? Got way too many benches going on do i need the one that casts things? put metal into bench and have no option for recipes

While I haven't figured out yet how to farm the Black Blood tools, which blacksmith specialization would be ideal for tools? Does armor pen or health damage do anything for additional resources or faster farming?

Really feels like they’ve gone backwards with the way benches and thralls work, makes more sense to be able to make better equipment on a better bench and a speed boost and resource reduction from a skilled thrall.

I never knew that thralls had different effects on weapons, i just thought the higher the thrall level the faster they'll finish the weapon. I've wasted so many higher level thralls without realizing it.

Is it faster to make steel ingots the old way in the furnace or to use the iron reinforcement/steel fire recipe to make steel reinforcements, and then use the steel ingot recipe to break down the reinforcements into ingots? Has anyone tried this?

There is a crafting table called Dyer i believe and a T4 thrall will allow you to craft black and white. White requires Raw Ash, and black requires oil

How are you doing wak,, I'm Widowmaker 65,, I had started this game with a couple of other people and it's just not working out. We're all older men. I'm the oldest and these guys just act a little bit too childish for me and and bossy and just self-centered. But anyway, I was wondering I can't get no help from them. No communication. Will you help me figure out how to apply everything and get my work benches and all that stuff set up so I can learn how to start building stuff? I would appreciate it. I'll be waiting for your reply and I'm talking about I know it says I have to have to start with alchemist before the sorcery table. Its weird, i have AP the Dressmaker and Tarris Leatherbinder, i've tryed both, and both, dont let me craft the legendary armor repair kit, they only offer the Master, anyone know why?

Regular bench = Slow, Improved bench 25% fast then regular bench, Garrison 25% faster then improved.

i noticed that the weight went down the higher the tier of thrall. not sure if you noticed that from t1-t3 thralls.

Yes I didn't call each one out in the video but did show all the different weights on screen in the video each one reduces it more to t3, T3 and T4 have the same weight reduction.

What I see is now white this big crafting bench is no one will be able to get a secret base. As a solo player is difficult. My opinion it was good at it was.why they lost time on this .they could use time to fix what needed to fix

It's nice but sadly console players still have to wait godknowswhen for the map which to me (idk if others agree) is utter nonsense that they have to wait AND pay full price most likely. I'm on both pc and console but I still find it utterly dreadful and unfair.
