Haven't seen this one before. Nice classy design. As you say, I like the bowl shape to help the wood feed itself as it burns down. In any fire pit, if the wood gets much above the secondary air holes you are more apt to get some smoke coming off.

Solo does make some good stuff, no question. I like the bowl design of the Cuisinart to help with the complete burning thanks to gravity. The very same firepit in this video is still going strong after a year...still love it.

An unexpected geometry lesson! Thanks for the review. Any thoughts on how hot it gets under the unit? Worried about heat on the stamped concrete. TIA

Unexpected for us both! I thought it would be a simple review since I hadn't found a good review video when I was thinking about buying one. So I promised myself that if I did, I'd make an honest video about it. Well...kinda typical for me...one improvement spawned another. When I went to edit the video, it was a lot bigger than I had planned...which also may or may not be typical for me. 🤣 Glad you liked it. BTW...I checked...no issues on the stamped concrete at all after MANY fires in it on the Cuisinart Firepit stand. This thing is a winner.

How do you like this one compared to the Tiki fire pit that you also reviewed? Seems like this sloping bowl design allows for a more thorough burn?

I like it more. I think it looks better and as better constructed. The burn is just as good if not better and overall, the Cuisinart is less expensive.

can you use the pizza pan to starve out the fire if you don't want to wait for it to die down naturally? That would be super convinient

You can try, but I can't say you should...because of the ventilation design of the firepit, it won't really starve it.

Instead of finding the center and drilling just pick up a magnet with hook attachment.

Mine came with one with feet. Tried to upload a video but couldn't figure out how. Also, His lid would work on mine because the side overlaps the base with no gap.

Can you burn wood pellets in this?

Yes, and I have done it. However, you need to do it right. You have to slowly feed the pellets in steadily. Too little and it will die out. Too much and it will smother the fire. It is kind of a drag. Then I found these: geni.us/reposefirelogs I have used them quite a bit...they work very well. Would you like me to make a video about them in the future?

@@Brian-li5up We haven't had rain in my area for about a month or more so we are unable to burn anything (AFAIK), but that looks to be changing soon (bring on the rain!). I'll make that review as soon as I can! Cant wait to get back out to my creek and enjoy some good fires.

@@jdtinker I had my first fire on the Cuisinart last night and it worked great! Easy to light and definitely kept the smoke to a minimum. One thing I noticed is the wind guard has already turned a brown/bronze color after the first fire. Is this to be expected? Also did you link to your pizza pan. Cover? I think I want to give that a try. Thanks!

@@Brian-li5up Yes, the heat will discolor parts of it, totally normal. I kinda like it. You are right, I did forget to link to the pizza pan and knob so I updated the description. Heres mine. Your lid would wor as it iverlaps the side of the bowl...no gap, and mine came with the stand with screw in feet.
