Iv never seen a solo stove in person but I really like the method it uses to reduce smoke. I can think of a few times where I would have liked to have one. Thanks for showing it off.

Thanks for watching brother. The smokeless application is a big selling point for us. We wanna stay as camouflaged as possible lol.

Very nice design. That pit looks well built. It should last you a long time. It is nice that you don't have to worry about it damaging the Trex. Bob would be proud!

I just picked up the Bonfire during their last sale. It being almost smokeless was a big selling point as we have sold that are bothered by smoke. Looking forward to getting ours

On sale is the way to go, it retails for about 600 but we didn’t pay more than I want to say $450? Hope you get it for some winter fires!

Curious to the Yukon that you tested. I see that it’s pretty much smoke-free but on the yukon does one still smell the woodburning? Which to me is benefit.

One of the best reviews I’ve seen I purchased one of these really love the fire stove. I purchased the Yukon model. Only negative draw back I found in mine was the stainless gas tarnished over a year however I purchased some stainless steel wipes which seems to keep in like new just wipe with the grain of the stainless. One other negative thing I found is it is made in China. I try and buy products that are made in USA. It is a very high quality stove which is made to last and the warranty is lifetime for the person who has purchased the stove. Customer service is hard to get a hold of by phone when I called one time they said they was out had to leave voicemail so I emailed them they did get back with me within two business days. Great product I highly recommend to friends. Thanks for the review

We are closing on a new home we are having built in Colorado. I intend to put a fire pit in the back yard but I don't know anything about the Solo Stoves. Would you recommend the Yukon that you have here or the Bonfire, which the next size smaller. I don't anticipate more than 3 or 4 people around it at any time. Thank you for your review. It was very helpful. I have been subscribed to your channel for quite a while.
@innerbarkoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
First off thank you so much for all the support, and being a long time subscriber! The bonfire would be good for the amount of people, but the Yukon can take larger fuel. That being said if you’re cutting all your own wood then I wouldn’t hesitate to get the bonfire.

Funny how Bob Ross (in one way or another) gets a mention on this channel. Andy IS the Bob Ross of this type of stuff. I mean, Andy can do ASMR if he really wanted to. For example, an ASMR instructional on how to start a campfire. Oh wait!

The show-stopper for us was that you don't get the same "campfire" aesthetic. You're mostly looking at a stainless steel sphere instead of burning logs. In perfectly calm conditions this is not ideal. But I still have my eye on one. The smoke and sparks from a regular outdoor fire can not only be a major irritant but can ruin clothing as well.
@innerbarkoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
For sure up and down sides. Since we want to be as secluded and “hidden” as possible we wanted to make sure that the least amount of smoke was what was most important to us. If we want the “feel/aesthetic” of a fire we have the wood stove inside that gives us that feeling we sometimes strive for :)
@nateb45438 ай бұрын
I just read every review on the Canyon, one size bigger than yukon. Not one person mentioned the $600 cost. Like, "although expensive, well worth it" nothing. Must be nice

What does this leave in terms of coal/ash?
@innerbarkoutdoors3 жыл бұрын
It's a pretty complete burn, I was usually left with white ash that we just scoop out and spread on the dirt. A couple hour burn will get us about a half gallon or so. Your mileage may vary depending on the wood you use and other factors.

JKC - thanks for mentioning an alternative, I had not heard of Bluesky but now intrigued. What do you feel is better (or at least better value) about it?

I'll save everyone here a boatload of cash. Find a non-working front load wash machine and dismantle it. Bam! Stainless steel fire pit with holes around the entire body. It burns so efficient you'll have to step back.

I wouldn’t spend $199 on it when it’s made in China, Much less $599. I would pay $599 for it if it was built in the USA.
