I just flipped my first PC a little while ago!! Bought a faulty Optiplex for $20, put in a new PSU, and sold it for $100. I also have a old pavilion that was gifted to me though a post I asked my mother to make on Facebook Marketplace! Fixed that up and now its selling too!

If you happen to live near a micro center, you can go online and see their “open box” pc parts and you can get some great deals. I’ve gotten plenty of open box parts from them and never had any issues
@Jezza_C_WT4 ай бұрын
At my my local PC chain store you'll be lucky to get 10% off on their open box deals. Still worth doing if you can't find anything better though.

I've thought about it, but I've slowed down compared to the initial 6 months, simply to keep myself sane. So I don't know if my numbers are disappointing now.

Hey I love your content man! You got me started in building and selling computers I just built my pc and I was just wondering how much would be a good price to sell it? I remember you said to check eBay sold recently to find used part prices and I did that and got a lot of backlash for it being overpriced. I’m in Canada and maybe Canadian eBay is different? Well anyways the pc has a i5 7600k with z270p-d3 and 16gb of ddr4 rgb ram xpg spectrix 450w Corsair cx psu GTX 1060 6gb msi gaming x 5 rgb fans 90 dollar brand new case with a cooler master 212 evo and a 2000 gn hard drive how much would all that cost if I were to resell it?
@twowheelsusedtech76283 жыл бұрын
So two points, what you spend on fans you usually eat in profit seeing as buyers don't even notice their inclusion half the time, hence why I always go for cheaper chinese RGB fans for my builds, since most people don't notice/need fans that cost $30 each. Second, you didn't mention an SSD in your list. If you're selling a PC without an SSD, I'd say you're making a mistake. In this day and age, any system you put together should have windows on an SSD boot drive. But what I got, looking up your parts list, is $550 (USD) which is roughly 700 Canadian. In that case, I'd say if everything is put together right, and presented nicely, asking something around 800 canadian doesn't seem unreasonable.

question, when flipping, how do you list the pc online? like is it used? or brand new? and other things.

Midweek madness from EVGA has kinda sucked since 11/1. I snagged a 1660ti for $180, 1080ti ft3 for $280. Not much since. A few 1650 supers for $159. I hope it picks up again. And my last open box microcenter mobo was a DOA even tho it said tested. Keep grinding everyone!

Question: what factors should I take in consideration for shipping price
@twowheelsusedtech76283 жыл бұрын
I saw your comment on the other video, when dealing with eBay there is the fee that they charge. Something like 10% of the final price, and then there is the shipping charge. I use USPS priority flat rate boxes so that I know what the shipping cost will be each time, and simply set that as the shipping charge for the item (Ex. $10 for small box, $15 for medium). Then all you really need is bubble wrap and a magnetic bag to ship it in, which I've accumulated a ton of just by ordering parts.

Should I buy used or all new? I sold my first one and it had used parts...

hello im thinking of building a pc for flipping i already made another comment off getting into flipping but i have another question someone is selling refurbished rx 570s for 70 euros about 85 dollar but if i would like to use these would it then be best to take the risk of buying 2 or just one due to the risk of maybe not selling the system?
@twowheelsusedtech76283 жыл бұрын
So overall after reading over all your comments I'll give you a few key pieces of advice. 1) Do not advertise things your system can not achieve. When providing benchmark/fps numbers never make a claim that is false. If you're going to say the computer can play fortnite on high with 60 fps+, make sure that is true. 2) Your goal is to have a happy customer at the end, while making a reasonable profit on the build. With this, you should do research into what is a "decent" build in the market today. Generally people are playing at 1080p and aiming for medium settings at the very least, so I wouldn't mess around with parts that can't hit near that performance. (Which your older computer that you mentioned seems like it's short of the mark. In that case, I would recommend just selling the parts out of the computer on a site such as eBay and investing that money into a build that is more relevant.) 3) Most of computer flipping is about knowing the market, and the parts. So if you're asking questions such as is "X" part able to be flipped, then I would recommend doing more research before you play around with the idea of flipping yourself. Watch videos, look at your local market, look at eBay listings. Get a good idea for the competition you'll be matched up against, plan out fake budgets, look at costs for parts and windows keys. Have a plan before you go around buying things.

Hi there. Great advice, liked and subscribed :) So, I have a rather personal question for you. I'm disabled and can't drive. I also don't live extremely close to the city, but that's somewhat unrelated. I don't want to make any assumptions about your disabilities, but I can say for me personally that being able to pick up local deals has been a big roadblock for me relating to my transportation, distance, and disabilities. Can you tell me a little about your experiences relating to this matter and what you've done to get around it? In fact, if you ever decide to make a video about it, I'd love to hear it. Clearly, neither of us let it stop us, because we're both continuing to sell :) But I'd love to hear your perspective either way.
@twowheelsusedtech76282 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's a lot in a response to that question, though I don't have a lot of advice on the issue of not being able to drive. That certainly is a large roadblock in pursuing a hobby like this, and the only real way around it is finding others to help or relying on getting everything shipped and sold directly to you. It's probably worth covering some ways to get around these problems in a video, but I really appreciate your attitude. Keep strong and carry on my man.
