Samsung notes was the biggest thing that makes me miss my note 9 when I switched to iPhone. Fantastic integration and actually was the best way to export bank transactions/digital receipts into an easily readable and datable way, perfect for tax time. But I think the biggest thing that Samsung has managed to accomplish with Notes over Apple's Notes app and Evernote/Google Keep is it's a very customisable and attractive note taking app. It just feels extremely polished compared to most note taking apps and I've never found a replacement. Plus the Samsung Notes App on the Galaxy book devices sheesh, best. Great video, honestly the most slept on application Samsung offers.

Daniel, your information is excellent. As a broadcaster I have a tip for you. You tend to "throw away" sentences - in radio speak, that means going up at the end of your sentences. Over time it can be a little distracting. With a little practice you can improve a lot. I should know, as I had this problem when I started out and did it much more than you do.

I like Notes overall, but there are a couple of things that I think need to improve. First, I think Reminders app should be integrated into the notes app. Second I don't like how the checkboxes are so fixed, the indentation is difficult to find, you can't really move the bullet points and they don't get out of the way when the checkbox has been ticked off. With that it would be better I think

hey, how do i change the default font colour of the Samsung keyboard. i use dark theme and black template and everytime I open a new note, the font colour of the text is black. i have to manually switch the font colour to white everytime.

I used an older version of Notes and it had the feature of converting pasted words, sentences, paragraphs,etc. to the existing note's format [font colors and sizes]. My new S24 Ultra seems to be missing that and I haven't been able to find any place to enable it.

Folders do not permit same document to be stored in multiple locations. Changing one does not therefore update all. Tags solves this by permitting one document across multiple tags so always updated no matter. Apps based on this are the way to go.

I want time tags for my notes but it can't do this. For instance you may want to write down your financial notes. So you need to write a number then enter and get a time and date tag beside that number at a glance.

The inability to sync the Samsung Notes on your phone with your Mac or Windows PC (I know there's a kludgy unofficial workaround for non-Samsung Windows computers.) and especially with Evernote is a deal-killer. Much better to just install Evernote on your Samsung device and Mac and/or Windows.

This is a wonderful video, thank you, Daniel! I do have one question... Near the end of the video you describe the link integration where you clip something from a website and choose "Add to Note." Mine doesn't have that option but it does have something useless instead: Microsoft 365 Note (which I don't use at all). How do I get rid of that option and replace it with the "Add to Note" option you show in your video?

Hey there! What web browser are you using? That link up I believe is done using Samsung Internet as opposed to Google Chrome browser. Give that a try! So glad you enjoyed the video and got lots out of it!

Oh, that explains it. Thanks for the quick answer! I do use Chrome exclusively, and I believe I disabled Samsung Internet because I get a weird menu when I try to use it. Oh well, that's OK! I really do need to stick with Chrome. I'm happy with everything else you've opened my eyes to. I just wish Samsung would let us keep the notes on a PC as well. They've disabled that except unless you're using a PC made by Samsung, which I thought was a bad decision on their part. I got around it by going back to the old version of Notes and disabling Samsung Notes updates on my PC, so it still works but it's a shame that I had to do that because eventually the app may get so old that it will no longer work.

​@@techwithbenefitsI also found that I can accomplish the same (but it takes an extra tap or two) by selecting "share" from that pop-up menu. This lets me share to a Samsung Note and also gives me the option to include the link with a preview, so the effect is essentially the same.

Yeah I'm not sure why they disabled Notes on PC'S that aren't Samsung. I know you can sync Samsung Notes into OneNote from Microsoft to try and get that PC sync that way perhaps as well

Yes that's true! That is a decent workaround that can bring in the webpage link with a preview into a Note.

Hey mate I figured one out! If you download a blank white landscape orientation PDF, you can add it as a Samsung Notes template! Don't add an image, choose a pdf. Gives you a landscape template to work from! Great question!

@@techwithbenefits Yes, sending a text file to Gmail, Google Keep or WeChat. I realize now it is not just Samsung Notes. Sorry if this is off thread but if I click on any file I am restricted to sharing it with Mail, Samsung Flow, Intel Univision Microsoft Team or Quick Share. But I need them to be shared with programs I use more. For now I am using a workaround as my notes are synched and I use my cell phone to send files.

Can also see shared notes (beta) section, but inside of that section, invite collaborators does not work. Even if I create a new, shared notebook, give it a name, nothing happens. And at the bottom, clicking on a new note (in shared section) nothing happens either. Very bizarre.

Help + Question for all !! I have thousands of Samsung Galaxy voice notes where I use it as an audio recorder and nothing more, just for audio recording. I need to transfer the voice notes onto my computer to play as audio files, for documentation of a meeting happened. There seems no way to do it. There is no option to save as an audio file. Samsung does not want us to be able to use our audio in a video or audio editor or be able to play it in our favorite audio player.... It seems insanely negligent of Samsung. Some say its because Samsung doesn't want to pay for the rights to use .mp3 or audio formats so no one can use audio they have recorded. If anyone knows of a way to transfer the audio to a computer please let me know, begging here. I have searched and watched videos for hours and none have anything on this horrible issue I'm having. This video covers nothing about one of the most important features of saving the audio to be able to play. I have to save them and put them on a computer for work.

Okay! So I figured it out. Once you've finished the recording. You'll get a little arrow pointing left. Click on it and then hit the 3 dot hamburger style menu, there will be a share button that will appear. You can then share it as a .m4a file! Let me know if you'd like me to screen record it and post it as a link!

That lets me share it to a social media profile and over the internet to an email but not letting me transfer to a computer folder like plugging the usb-c in so I could drag and drop them, there are over 3,000 audio voice notes that I have. It's 77GB of audio recordings. @@techwithbenefits

Honestly? Disappointed in this review. Daniel, I got hooked on your videos because they are unlike other reviews, which usually just cover the obvious features. Listened to your S23 Ultra and camera reviews probably 100 times as you dig into the nitty gritty. In comparison, this review felt a bit... Lazy. The only revelation was the "folders within the folders". What about the obvious questions though: 1. Is there a storage limit per account, or per note (if I include a lot of audio and pics)? 2. Do the audio clips record the mic for speakers in the room, or can they record audio calls too? 3. Can I change the order of buttons when I'm working on the document (with GoodLock)? Some of the most used buttons for pen edits are wide apart. 4. Why not talk about the pen? 5. If I write with the pen, And choose to right size the text, the window to do so is incredibly small and fits only one word at a time in cursive. Is there any way to resize it? Hope you'll do a pen-specific update for Samsung Notes and it's a much more in depth analysis, one that you're known for. ✌️

Hey mate, I appreciate the honrst feedback. I actually did a full S Pen review on my channel, which covers, in depth, the S Pen features within Samsung Notes. As for the other points, the reason why they weren't covered is because those functions don't exist within Samsung Notes. The audio recording utilises the mics on your phone (it doesn't record media playing, for example). There is no good lock module that allows you to reorganise the order of the buttons, you can set up button short cuts to change pens etc, but that doesn't really solve your problem. Also RE: the s pen, not everyone that has a Samsung phone has an s pen, so there are features that can be used without. I know on the surface this might appear lazy to you, but everything is intentional. Hope this helps explain a few things 🤙
