Oh man. First day on Zepbound 2.5mg. Last night at 4am, I woke up in a sweat and with my heart pounding at about 150bpm. This lasted a couple of hours. Not only was it very uncomfortable, it was quite scary too. It felt like a full blown panic attack. I got up, vomited once and checked my heart rate to make sure it wasn't too crazy high, because it felt horrible. It's now 10am, but my heart rate is still about 103 after lying in bed for 4 hours. I think I'm ok now, but I certainly hope it doesn't happen again. It was awful.

I don't think it's settled science. Some thought of dehydration from decreased intake. There's also evidence the GIP receptor changes sympathetic tone. Also seems to have direct stimulation of the SA node, where the normal heart beat initiates pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27777261/

Zero side effects on 2.5 and zero side effects from 5mg and no weight loss. Hoping for some benefit from 7.5 or higher.

Hi, I'm a male I am on the 2.5mg zepbound. I just started 2 days ago. My goal weight is 160 which means 160g a day of protein. How can I reach that number? I drank a 42g protein shake this morning and didn't feel like i wanted to eat for hours! When i ate some chicken and rice, it taste good until it didn't. And i could only ate half of the portion i set(might've been too much rice?). So one day in, this seems like a really tough task especially since it seems that the sensation of hunger and enjoyment of eating can be easily turned off, and maybe not even turned back don for the rest of the day. Any tips?

Hi a recent Zepbound user too. (Female) have been researching and watching a lot of videos, and one suggestion on protein intake I saw was to ramp up over the week. It is, as you have experienced, very hard to get that much protein in especially on day 1 & 2 after injection. But work on more protein later in the week as the hunger suppression declines. Haven’t got mine worked out yet. But thought I’d share.

Instead of chicken with rice, eat chicken. When the chicken is gone, THEN rice. Or even better, no rice but veggie instead

You can count on day 2-4 being hardest to eat. On days it’s going down get that protein up and fluids!

Medicare won't pay for weight loss medications. I really need help. I am 69! 5'3" and weigh 237. I have been eating healthy and have been loosing weight, but fight cravings and hunger. I have tried everything including lap band surgery; and gained back 80lbs fast. Is it possible to go to you for help? I have no gallbladder. Can you help me?

I am 70 and started on Zepbound 3 months ago (I thought I may be too old to get it but Dr said OK) First 2 months did 2.5 and now starting on 5mg Pen. I pay full price but feel it is worth every penny. Medicare will pay for Weight Loss Surgery, High BP Meds, Diabetes Related Complications, Strokes but consider this med a “Vanity” Type med…SAD! I have called my Rep to voice my concern that Medicare does not cover this med. Possibly compounding can reduce the cost in the future or my pharmacy plan has a Max out of pocket cost or Medicare may cover in the future…till then my health is worth every penny of this med.

Why are patients with gastroparesis not supposed to take Zepbound? What can happen?

One of the ways the medications work is by slowing stomach emptying, so if you already have this as a pre-existing condition, you can get into significant vomiting and dehydration issues.
