Fascinating, I'm starting Sema next week. Fortunately and Unfortunately it's through the VA so I don't know if I could get metformin as a non diabetic person as well as experimenting with low dose sema. I may have to see a private Dr to get prescribed metformin to use as you described.

I’m very interested in trying interim metformin treatment! Wegovy has worked wonders for me, and I want to ensure I do this right for the long term. Thank you for the information to discuss with my doctor. I’ve been on Wegovy since April 2024, and it’s now October. I started at 0.25 mg, increased to 1.0 mg, and then decreased to 0.5 mg for the last 2.5 months. I’ve lost about 19.9% of my weight (from 206 lbs to 165 lbs), and my goal weight is 150 lbs. I’m a 54-year-old female, 5'1". I’ve tracked my weight weekly and found that my loss has been consistently around 3-4% per month, regardless of the dose. Due to the steady weight loss and to reduce costs, my doctor recommended I stay at 0.5 mg, and I’ve maintained that rate. Based on your experience with similar patients, should I continue with this treatment until my weight loss plateaus, or should I consider a preemptive pulse? Thank you!
