how durable are these houses?

They last 100's of years...I habe seen houses more than 100 years old in mint condition... except older plans inside but still a very solid build.

@@MrMogambo hard to believe though, am so used to concrete and iron rods, it makes me feel it won't be durable, may be i need to learn more.

@@skblabla above was typo its 100 years, the whole austrlia in only 250 years old. Btw the weather here isn't very harsh like rain and all is not as bad as in india. The base slab is hard concrete with iron rods, the external is brick work just like india, so everything is strong. external rendering is not needed as no heavy rain here. Internal walls are all soft plaster, there has never been a need to have solid wall.

Can you also talk about if is it practical to stay 30 kms from cbd, is it not hectic to travel 30 kms up and down every day? It works, so no issues, stronger than roof tiles, it's colorbond steel so little different from sheets used village, but similar concept. It's stronger and weather proof. They also put insulation in house for heat and cold. So ut protects from weather.
