Very helpful as I plan my own system. One question: are the water and electrical lines back to the house placed in conduit, or can they be, and if so, can they go in the same conduit? I would like to do this, so that the lines might be replaced in the future without digging.

Great question - yes, the electrical cable can be placed in conduit, though we use direct-bury UF cable for our systems, which does not need conduit. As for the water line, I’ve personally never seen that run in conduit, and I’ve also never seen polyethylene water line need replaced, so I don’t, personally, think there’s a reason to try to run the water line in conduit. @@marklundegren Ah, I see! In that case, yes, we’re run water line in conduit quite a bit. I would recommend 3” or larger PVC conduit with long sweep 90s for 1” water line. If you end up using PVC pipe and not electrical conduit for the pipe sleeve, then you’ll want to go 4” or larger and use two 45s to make the bend up instead of one 90. And, generally speaking, you can run cabling with the water line, though you’ll want to verify local code

We use a whole house water distiller, running to a faucet at a kitchen sink, ice maker lines, bar sink, etc. That is our drinking water. Would I need to add another inline filter prio to the distiller?

Great question. I’m honestly not all that familiar with distillers. I’ve only had one customer in all our years in business who utilized a distiller. I would say, though, that good prefiltration would certainly prevent (or at least lessen) fouling of the distiller itself. It sure is! This is a 5500 gallon system. Costs vary greatly region to region and state to state. In Ohio, average cost for a system like this with permits and regulations is between $20,000-24,000. In Kentucky, that cost goes down from $18,500-24,000. There are a lot of factors
