Nice video--teaching a teen how to do this. Although my dad taught me a lot of things (either directly instructing or by my watching), a couple of things he didn't. When he took my sister and I to ski for our first time: he got us into our boots, latched the skis, and said go have fun. Another was he got me my first polisher (10", butterfly handles, if that's the right term) back in '77 when I was learning to drive. He told me to wax and buff his car with it, but to be careful. (Lots of instruction there. What on earth did he mean I kept wondering.) I was apprehensive but learned quickly that the machine had "a mind of its own" and that I was best off just guiding it. He came out occassionally to make sure that the LeSabre was ok.

I'd love to see a video that gets into the chemistry and mechanics of what happens when we are detailing. How these chemicals work, and what makes them different. What makes All Clean different from incredible suds? Not just in the way it is used, but what makes these two chemicals different, are there different surfactants? Why is one a stronger cleaner? Why does incredible suds make suds? What is a polymer? What is a surfactant? What makes ceramic gloss and quick beads different in their composition? What is a water activated ceramic, is that really how that works?

May I just say, when your pad is properly “seasoned”, that 1 spray of Gold Standard is more than enough for a 2x2 section. Frequent cleaning or multiple pads makes short work of even the larger trucks, vans and SUVs. I’m not saying Gold Standard is the bestest of the best, but I am saying it gets the job done 99%, 99% of the time. My “go to” has always been Menzerna … and it still is, but Gold Standard gives it a run for the money. 😊😊😊

question @DIY Detail what is the other way if you dont have the bucket to water the pad? can i use bottle sprayer with mist spray to the pad? before using it to car surface?
A quick question. I have applied a ceramic coating - decon, 2 stage polish, panel wipe, and buffed with 3 towels. Looked amazing. Waited 24h in my garage and looked amazing again, no high spots. After 2 weeks the client came back and on the hood the ceramic looked like a clear coat run. How is this possible and why. How can i fix it?
