we rebuilt a 1969 powerglide and everything works great except ,,It doesn't shift into HIGH ! Any ideas what we missed ??

Get a 300 psi pressure gauge and check pressures. Google instructions or you tube. Sounds like clutches in drum not applying.

I am not using a trans brake so will drilling out the rear piston apply hole as you did still be needed or is it a wast of time and.... do I need the heavy duty springs and retainer as you did with this one?? Really appreciate the time you have put into these videos, Thank you!!
@BrianSwayne16 күн бұрын
No you don't need any of that.

Brian Swayne another question after the pump is modified how much line pressure does it typically make?
@BrianSwayne4 жыл бұрын
@@Spudderr The pressure is regulated by the pressure regulator spring in valve body. The mods just give better flow of oil. Typically 200 psi with modified spring.

This is probably one of the most in-depth glide assembly videos, although you didn't include installing the pump... it stopped after you installed the band

i have a powerglide out of a 66 chevelle. been sitting for 12 years now only goes in park. worked fine before hand. any ideas?
@BrianSwayne4 жыл бұрын
I would say after sitting that long all seals will be rock hard. You can reseal with a gasket and seal kit.

The check valve is in the hole next to the cooler check valve probably at the 7ocock spot. It presses into the stator side and has a matching hole in the pump body to clear it.
@BrianSwayne4 жыл бұрын
That is the downshift timing valve. Not needed.Pull out and discard.
