Please exercise caution when opening the alcohol inks. The best method is actually to use a push pin to poke a hole. I used to open mine using scissors but find the push pin method the easiest . If you want to use scissors instead please use caution. The built up pressure in the inks can cause them to spray out. Please open over a trashcan or outside. I use a cotton swab on the end of the tip as I cut them open.

I always found that citadel Warhammer paints are really good for the fine paint details :) and they come in some lovely colours!

There are resins out there that don't take 2 or 3 days to cure the most I have heard of a type of resin needing to cure for is maybe 24 hours an some within 8 hours so u could probably look into getting resin that is alot faster than a 2 day cure js🙂💜

yea I never had a resin that took that long to cure. usually cure between 12 to 24 hours at most. I cant wait any longer than that.

If you read most resin instructions, they take upwards of five days to completely cure. They’re usually hard enough to demold within a day, but take longer to cure entirely.

I use marine pro which only takes about five hours to hard enough to where it doesn’t drip everywhere and then by the next day I can pick it up. Its 100% cured in 4-5 days. Nice!! Hm... There's probably plenty of resin to do all the shakers, I think that's what the UV Resin is for that they included, for the doming. I personally prefer to use UV for doming anyway. 🙃 Thanks for this tutorial, I have about 20 or so assorted shakers being delivered soon and I can't wait!

Hello, good day, I ask, does not it become brittle when you put it on the resin and then pour the resin? Isn't it better to make two parts of resin and stick them together?❣

UV resin is the best choice. It would only be brittle if one-sided and thin. If sandwiched, thin is totally safe. A 2-part resin, depending on the kind, doesn't cure solid for 12-24 hours (some longer). That would mean that there is still movement (thus leaking) able to occur.

Just curious, why dont you use uv resin for doming when you add the b... the ring on the back? Trying to learn when yo use uv and when to use regular resin 😊

Martina Magnusson you could dome with uv resin if you want but it’s usually more expensive so some people only use it in small quantities like securing the bail or the transparency film. If you use it in a mold make sure it is clear so that the light can cure the resin.

Can you please put your tips in the beginning of the video? People will follow your video to do their artwork but only when they finished the work, they find "oh I can paint the mold before pouring the resin in", "Oh it's better to add baby oil in the shaker, but I have already sealed the shaker"

That wouldnt really work because basically all epoxy resins start really holding their shape till at least 6-12 hours later so the film will most likely not stay in place

What did you use for the clear sticky sheet? I want to get more so I can make more than just 8.

It's a clear film with a protective seal. It's not sticky, which is good for making shakers. I've bought some other sheets like this from online craft shops but also you can search for "transparency film" - which also works really well! I've also seen some crafters recycle plastic from packaging to make the film :)
