Complete Story - Greatest Heroine Ever? - Final Fantasy XIII

Just to point out a few things you got incorrect. Cocoon is basically a moon or a flying continent rather than a city, as it has cities such as Bodhum, Eden, Nautilus and Bresha all located on or within it however. Lake Bresha is on Cocoon, rather than on Gran Pulse, the party did not fall from Cocoon to Gran Pulse, and only travel to Gran Pulse after their battle with Primarch Dysley/Barthandelus. After this he basically supplies them with an Airship which sends them to an Ark, which after going through the Ark they then use a Pulsian Airship to get to Gran Pulse. Fang and Vanille are not involved in time travel, rather, they were in their crystal sleep since the end of the War of Transgression. Their Focus at the time was to destroy Cocoon via turning into Ragnarok, now while Fang did become Ragnarok and complete her Focus in that sense, she did not destroy Cocoon, rather she caused a ton of damage to it. Due to the fact Etro, a Goddess intervene and put Anima, the Fal'Cie that turned them into L'Cie, into a sleeping state. Since Anima was now asleep, Fang was released from her form as Ragnarok and stopped her destruction of Cocoon, and thus she entered a premature crystal sleep, as did Vanille, and since in their crystal forms they never die, they live on until awoken. They wake up about a week or 2 before the game, and to some extent, start all of the happenings that come before the game, most importantly resulting in Dajh and Sarah becoming L'Cie. You say Cie'th are a new type of monster near the end of the game, this is true, and yet, not true. The game has Cie'th all over the place, in fact, the very first enemies, and nearly the only enemies you fight in the entire second chapter of the game are just that, Cie'th. That being said, the Cie'th you fight near the end are a different kind of Cie'th rather than the normal kind, normal Cie'th being people who failed to complete their Focus, while these new ones were made from people who were given no real Focus, nor time to complete it. They were made into Cie'th simply for the sake of making Cie'th rather than giving them a goal, and becoming a Cie'th being their punishment for failing to do so. Cie'th are a commonly occurring enemy however, and they are mentioned many times throughout the game, as they are one of the primary reasons the characters originally can not simply ignore their Focus. I do love these videos, as I love these stories and everything, just wanted to point out some of the mistakes made. Also if you could, please try to pronounce the names a bit better, I am sure you do not mean to, but listening to these it is easy to tell the names are not said correctly if you have ever played the games, and it just kinda sounds out of place. XD

Final Fantasy 13 was such an amazing game and one of my favorites. It is without a doubt one of Square Enix's best games, along with the two that follow it. Lightning is an incredible protagonist and main character and I absolutely loved her!

@@CryptomanXADVENT Because it was my first final fantasy games I played. And I fell in love with that game. The characters, the story and how the world was, I loved it. The game gets a lot of mixed feelings because of how linear the game feels, but literally X and X-2 where literally the most linear games I play. Which mad somewhat sense since it was on the ps2. XIII was like that because the story is forcing you to go down a path you didn’t choose. And the director even said that. It’s supposed to feel like your walking in a straight line to an end goal. And then you get to Pulse and the game opens up and you get your freedom back against the Fal’cie. I thought that was great and the ending was great my hands playing in the background as Lightning smiles and tells Snow he and Serah can get married made me cry. Great game 10/10. The sequels weren’t really needed in my opinion but I still played them. And I like them as a whole.

Not argueing at all with you Eero, this is where Infected and Zodical disagree about this game. She is a huge fan of the trilogy, while Infected played the games with the same feelings you did. While it seems like a okay RPG, I really shouldnt be carrying the Final Fantasy Title. As a matter of fact Infectedcrow got into a forum post discussion about why Bravely Default feels more like Final Fantasy then any of these recent entries into the series.

Of course there is the whole "if its not broke dont fix it" idea I enjoyed the new battle system. I love FFXIII! FFXIII gets alot of shit. The plot was focused people thrown into a situation where they were basically guilty by association with an underlying theme being shapeshifter that infiltrated human government. You were on the run and in no way in that game did I feel like they could chill out and explore a town. I did not feel the whole plot was crafted around how they designed that game since 2005. FFX and it's towns were linear as fuck and I love that game. After the first 18 hours and you get to pulse there are parts that branch alot more and are more open than FFX. This is coming from a guy with about 400 hours on both FFX and FFXIII, respectively. The first few hours of FFVII is a few slashes and an occasional potion and bolt. Because the opening of FFXIII gets so much shit for it. The sequels were absolute garbage because FFXIII had no cliff hanger, onmy because I was really attentive to that universe you actually find out that there were hundreds-thousands of Fal'Cie shapeshifters in human government. They could've had humans and Fal'Cie continue to fight and mind of flip the whole concept of the purge around until that fight drew the attention of the creator like the Fal'Cie intended to do with Ragnarok. To be completey fucking honest I like the original FFXIII more than FFX and I fucking love FFX. I couldn't compare FFVII to FFXIII until I see an HD remake, FFVII had more exploration but only because the world allowed it. I'm sorry FFXIII wasn't a carbon copy of games we've seen in the past. Final Fantasy XII was much more open than Final Fantasy XIII but I also feel like the story and dialouge are dull as shit in XII by comparison. I loved the on the run feel and the game did open up and have a slew of endgame content. I wish the sequels never existed but that's about it.

There was no time travel in XIII. Crystal Stasis can last as long as the Falcie want. It's like a refrigerator for servants. Fang and Vanille were crystalized for 500 years. They didn't travel through time. That said, you can take this game as a complete story. XIII-2 was going to be a completely separate story until they decided that it would probably sell more if it had the same characters. I think it's garbage for doing that. And for dumbing down the difficulty and being completely unbalanced.

@@talonpop FFXIII did end on a cliffhanger, though -- Serah was with them on Pulse and then disappeared. As far as FFX goes, I'm convinced that most people like FFX only because of nostalgia. I played it for the first time at like age 30 a few years back, and the characters are all really awful and the story is absolutely nonsensical. The combat is extremely uninteresting (Tidus attacks these guys, Wakka attacks these guys, Lulu casts at these guys, etc.) and never evolves even the slightest bit. Even in the final dungeon, Wakka's still just throwing balls at flying guys and Auron's still just slashing armored guys. It's almost insultingly boring.

I liked 13 but I do agree that this game is very linear, I mainly liked the story, I really hope lightning returns is good. I had fun with the demo so that's a good sign, I also wonder how the time limit and events work, will you have to restart the day if you miss an important story event, will it be lost forever til your next play through, will the story follow you and if you don't finish in time its of course over, I have so many questions it's kinda crazy, as much as I know I could easily look it up as the game is already out in japan, I don't feel like doing the research. I'll just wait until the 11th when I'm having fun playing the game while listening to nostalgic music whenever I kill something or if someone wants to tell me how the time limit and events works, I don't mind that either. While on the topic of lightning returns, does anyone also think that lightning does not look right in yuna's outfit. it's not that her outfit is horrible, It just doesn't suit her. I could see serah in it and have less problems, not lightning though

Ive played half of every Final Fantasy title. Never have I been so disinterested in what happens in the game as I was in 13. Just listen to the first minute of this video. And the Fal'cie made a L'cie on Cocoon which is on Gran Pulse which lies in a city called Badoom or something and the citizens are being forced into something called Purge Trans or something. TERMS TERMS TERMS! There is way too much going on and the characters do not feel believably compelling nor intertwined. You want an intertwined party? How about FF 8, 9 or 10? Tactics story was a work of art. But this, I just can't. I have no clue where I am and when Im watching this review I realized how little of the game I actually retained while playing it. Did they think an overly-complex world with simple ass characters would suffice??

Soooo many cutscenes and it required such little thought process because you had a map that was pretty straightforward. You know if you're about to encounter a battle and you can actually avoid them. the codex solves the story issues if you want it too (not the best method but better then nothing) but my issue is how you are forced to play characters one way not just that the combat is punishing if you dont do exactly the right shifts and eidolens are useless

FFXIII has a great story, but its presentation is convoluted. And I'm not talking about the definitions of l'Cie and fal'Cie. Everyone whined about having to learn those two words, but, seriously, to those who didn't pick them up from context the forty THOUSAND times they were talked about: you must not even have been trying to pay attention. The bigger problem is that the story begins on the thirteenth day of an ongoing situation (day one: Vanille and Fang exit crystal slumber on Cocoon, and Vanille pretends not to remember their previous Focus; day thirteen: Cocoon begins the purge of Bodhum), and the previous twelve days are filled in sporadically and in no particular order, which makes it impossible to keep a timeline in your head the first time through the game, unless you spend a lot of time reading back through datalog entries. Once you know the major events -- namely, why Lightning, Sazh, Snow, Vanille, and Hope chanced to meet together at Anima; and why Vanille and Fang are on Cocoon at all -- the second time through the game is substantially better, and is filled with little character moments you can't possibly notice the first time.

Way way way too many playable characters in my opinion. I got lost in the layered narrative and would have preferred a greater focus on Lightning and Snow as the two main characters. I also sensed a strange elephant in the room chemistry between Snow and Lightning which obviously didn't't develop (I thought the same between Vaan and Ashe in FFXII). This game had a pretty great protagonist in Lightning and some cool concepts of overcoming oppression and discovering the unknown and I really loved the gameplay but I became increasingly disengaged with the story. I never completed it..

I liked XIII for the reason for the Inviroments and Soundtrack is stunning in manny cases, and most characters is interesting enough. And the story is better then the average game stories in games but the cutscenes is almost 7 hours, and u can still basically cover the whole story, so the story does not really tell you that much besides showing the gorgeous pre rendered cutscenes. Not exactly sure how its misleading, our previous ones for Assassin's Creed ask if Edward is a pirate or Assassin and we always ask questioned based on the content of the story. The Subtitle is always, The Complete Story so people are aware, this is one of our lore Titles, so I apologize if you thought this was a top ten or something.

Allen Babylon Both of them are on the plate. We started doing series we personally enjoyed such as MGS, Assassin's Creed and Bioshock. We have a large list of games to cover but they need to meet two criteria basically we need to have played the game so we can personally understand the important moments in the plot. The second criteria they we started up recently is that it has to be hitting the headlines for some reason. As KZbining is just as much marketing as it is making great content, having a game hitting the headlines for some reason helps get the videos some attention. So basically we'll get to DMC and GoW either when theres a gap in our stories, or if you see a announcement for a sequel. For the record, loved both those series, I even like the DMC remake, though the new Dante 80's punk appearance could have stayed away.

***** I enjoyed the DMC remake as well. I was infuriated by people calling him emo when he was meant to be punk. His hair was just an unstyled mohawk, rather than helmet hair combed into his face. I took it as the western equivalent to what Dante was in the original series, being modeled as a Japanese punk. I didn't know he was 80's modeled though. I thought he was meant to be European, since the remake was created by a European team.

She is a strong fighter but far from greatest heroine. She just does too many roundabouts, barely emotional unless its her sister. Cool design and fighting style but that's about it. There are plenty of better contestants for greatest heroine.

Probably the worst FF ever made. The names are stupid (LC?? FoulC?? ABC??) The characters are forgettable. Main protagonist has no charisma. The entire story line is just confusing.
