Ishmael: The Forgotten Son of Abraham"
What do we know about Ishmael according to the Bible? Ishmael was Abraham's first son, born when Abraham was 86 years old and living near Hebron. In Genesis 15, God promises Abraham, during an apparition, that he will have a son and become the father of many nations. At that time, Abraham had no children. His wife Sarah was unable to conceive, and they questioned how this promise would be fulfilled. Welcome, dear friends, to another captivating journey through the pages of the Bible on our channel, Bible Stories. Today, we delve into the intriguing narrative of Ishmael, the forgotten son of Abraham. This biblical tale is a tapestry of human struggles, divine promises, and the enduring grace of God. If you find inspiration in the timeless stories of faith, heritage, and redemption, you're in for a treat. Before we unravel the depths of Ishmael's story, make sure to subscribe to our channel, Bible Stories, to stay connected with the profound wisdom and teachings of the Scriptures. Don't forget to hit the notification bell, so you never miss a compelling episode. Now, let's embark on this enlightening journey together!
In Genesis 16:3, Sarah, who was still called Sarai, suggests to Abraham, who was still called Abram, to have a child with her Egyptian maidservant Hagar, whom she gives to him as a wife: “Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.” (Genesis 16:3).
This seems to be a common custom of the time since Jacob's wives also resorted to it. The wife offers a servant to her husband, but all children born from this union are considered hers, which could be an early form of surrogacy. In antiquity, it was common for a barren woman to offer her husband a servant who would bear children in her stead; it was the wife, not the servant, who raised the children.
If this solution may have seemed judicious to Abraham and Sarah, it created more problems than it solved. Hagar did indeed have a child with Abraham. When Hagar learned she was pregnant, she began to despise Sarah, and Sarah sought help from Abraham. Genesis 16:4-5 states: “So when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. Then Sarai said to Abram, ‘My wrong be upon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lord judge between you and me.’” (Genesis 16:4-5).
Abraham allowed Sarah to act as she wished. Sarah then mistreated Hagar, who fled from her. Sarah, being barren, had obtained a son from Hagar, and Ishmael was legally Sarah's child. However, this does not explain how Sarah treated Hagar.
A few years later, God established a covenant with Abraham, requiring circumcision of all male members of his household. God commanded Abraham to circumcise his son Ishmael as well as all other males in his household, including slaves born in his household and those acquired from foreigners. Abraham was 99 years old when he was circumcised, and Ishmael was 13.
The birth of Isaac, the legitimate son of Sarah and Abraham, exacerbated the already strained relational tensions between Sarah and Hagar. Indeed, these had begun long before Ishmael’s birth, as mentioned previously. It was in the desert that the Angel of the Lord met Hagar and ordered her to return to Abraham. It was also there that the Angel of the Lord told her the son she was carrying was to be named Ishmael. What does Ishmael mean? It means "God has heard." Indeed, the Lord heard Hagar's distress (Genesis, chapter 16, verse 11).

Ishmael was not forgotten, God blessed him to be the father of 12 great nations that is Arabs. Israel is the father of 12 great nations too. Arabs and Israeli people are half brothers. The only difference is that the saviour of the world came from Isaraelites line, choosen by God. The whole world was saved through Him to those who believe. No matter where you are from, colour or race. Our saviour Jesus Christ died for mankind.

Deuteronomy 18:18 “I (God) will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.” The verse in discussion is explicit in saying that the prophet will come amongst the Brethren of the Jews. Abraham had two sons: Ishmael and Isaac. The Jews are the descendants of Isaac’s son, Jacob. The Arabs are the children of Ishmael. Thus, the Arabs are the brethren of the Jewish nation. The Bible affirms: “And he (Ishmael) shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.” (Genesis 16:12) “And he (Ishmael) died in the presence of all his brethren.” (Genesis 25:18) The children of Isaac are the brethren of the Ishmaelites. Likewise, Muhammad is from among the brethren of the Israelites, because he was a descendant of Ishmael the son of Abraham. God Will Put His Words in the Mouth of the Awaited Prophet The Quran says of Muhammad: {Neither does he speak out of his own desire: that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired.} (Quran 53:3-4)

Jesus is not a prophet. In John 1:1,2 In the begining there was word the word was with God and the word is God. The father, the son and the holy spirit pre existed. They are the divine Government and work together to bring salvation to all Nations, Kindred, tongue and people. Un like the Prophets Jesus is special. Borne of the Vergin Mary, lived an unselfish sinless life, died to save us from sin rose and assended to heaven and is sitting at the right hand of his father in heaven. At this time there is an investigative judgment going on in heaven which started on the 22nd oct 1844.jesus our savior is pleading for us with his father and our God in behalf of us. The father has given all authority to Jesus. The father, the son and the holy are one in essence and three in person.Dear Muslim brothers and sisters please read the Gospal of Jesus Christ that is found in the new Testament of the Bible. @@Kaka-jn3luoriginally rainbow means Covenant (contract and promised) between our Father in Heaven and to humanity after Noah's the flood when the huge water receded to the ocean. Therefore, it is our Father's promised not to destroy humanity by flood. However, nowadays "rainbow" being used as comdey, ridicule and has a negative impact to individuals and paraded as part of our sex culture. Unfortunately, rainbow, nowadays, becomes an epitome of homosexuality and ridicule. Also, the poster expressed the rainbow as promised covenant between our Father in Heaven and us as free children and peace.

It's obvious that Ishmael, like his brother Isaac, is a wonderful boy. If you remember, the story's narrator claimed that Ishmael and his supporters were blessed by God because they trusted in Jesus Christ for redemption. To say he was forgotten is a big lie. No one forgot him at anytime in human history from his birth to now and I affirm till end of time. He was remembered so much the children of Israel in the Bible maligned his honor. He was the apple of his father's eyes. God loves him and evidence was the Merciful named him. Nephew Jacob passed on his honorable mention to his bloodline. We in Islam loved him not less than an prophet. Not less than anyone person from the house of Ibrahim AS to each of the Prophets.

I am a muslim, listening to your stories as we believe that Bible is a book from God, but has been through alottt of changes... but still we can find some resemblence... We believe that Isma'el and his mother Hajra was left in the desert of Makkah mukarrama in a wild wilderness with noooo one around( but not in punishment). Isma'el was a baby at that time... Hajra was all alone and there was no water around... she put baby on the ground and run to a nearby mountain to search for water, and then to 2nd mountain... she takes round of those mountains 7 times but found nothing... she returns to baby and finds that where the baby had hit his little feet while crying ,a water sprout had been sprung... she drinks water, give water to baby.. and then put pebbles around the water pond and said, "zamzam" stop here... and that spring of water is still running in the Holy place of Makkah... later Isma'el with his father Ibrahim A.S built Khana kaaba... Islam believes in equality of people, black or white, slave or free, descendent from which ever race... if you are sincere and listen to God's signs and believe... you are noble... but here we listen a contemptouos language for a woman who was a slave.. God is not unjust that he will put someone on a lower level because he born that way... this is not something which one can control or have power on that. I find it strange when you related it to a holy book...

It might be helpful for you to read your own sources. The Quran teaches that it is the direct speech of Allah. It also teaches that Allah’s words cannot be changed. In addition it speaks about the inspiration, preservation and authority of the Torah and the Gospel. The Bible that was available in the time of Mohammed is the same as we have today. Yet Muslims have been taught that it has been changed and corrupted. That means that there is a dilemma in Islam. If the Bible has been changed, how is that possible since it is the word of Allah which cannot be changed and is said to be inspired and preserved by Allah’s authority. It is your leaders who are deceiving you. Either the Quran is correct or they are. They can all be wrong but only one can be right. Do you believe your sources or your leaders.?

Ishmael was Abraham's first-born son, and,as such, was entitled to inherit everything that YHWH promised to Abraham. In contrast, Esau sold his birthright to his brother for bread and lentil soup.

Ishmael was banished to the desert. The covenant was made with the descendants of Isaac. God did not make the covenant with Ishmael. Hence why Jews are the rightful and permanent owners of the holy land. God did describe the Ishmaelites as wild donkeys of men hence why they still fight for what isn't theirs. Hagar and Ishmael were banished to Saudi Arabia the rightful land of the Palestinians aka Ishmaelites.

The Jews failed to keep YHWH's Covenant, and He expelled them from Israel. History attests to that fact. Their expulsion allowed for the descendants of Isaac's first born son to claim their rightful inheritance. Ishmael's banishment was based on human prejudices, and did not invalidate his right to inherit as a first-born son. @@aragornii507

@@maalmurugasivan7823 understand, Islam didn't come before the curse, Islam came later outside of the curse, that means a behavior has been marked because it was observed by the Lord himself. And this is highlighted in a prolific passage of scripture talking about the father of who would be Muslim later, whose mother was Hagar the EGYPTIAN. She was a gentile servant out of the land of Egypt... that means her roots were pagan in the first place. The Lord cited the behavior of this child, as behavior is passed through the parents; saying "He will be a wild donkey of a man, and his hand will be against everyone, and everyone’s hand against him; he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” [Genesis 16:12] Now, take a personality reference and apply it through observation to a group of people and I challenge you to find a more accurate description of Middle Eastern behavior, particularly under the guise of Islam. Wild donkey besides being the Democratic symbol, still accurately depicts the behavior of people who reject God, a donkey is a symbol of hard-headed, stubbornness and obstinance. 100% accurate is the prophetic behavior of the seed of Ishmael, can't tell them anything, and they sure as heck don't want to hear anything from one that disagrees with them. Everyone's hand will be against him, and his hand will be against everyone else's - this is a state of enmity, this is deeper than strife, enmity comes out of strife therefore is an outcome, and outcome borne out of the inability to reason with people that don't agree with you. And again, this is all out of a behavior that's generationally passed. This is part of the curse of Ishmael. The curse is removed through Jesus Christ, there's a choice, and for those who come out of lands where they have converted or subjected (Islam translated means to submit) to Muslim theocracies (Islam nor catholicism are religions, they are faith-based government organizations) outside of that they will be mirror image of the curse of Ishmael and follow it flawlessly.. History bears this out without error. When you go through history catholicism was created before islam, catholicism was established in 325 AD after the fallout of the Nicæn consul, but didn't get centered the way we know it today until the fall of Roman emperor Romulus, in 476 AD to which those fantastical squatters the catholic bishopric commandeered the vatican property, that's how they acquired it, because no one gave it to them. Islam didn't show up until almost $880 giving it a table of historicity to draw its only references of what they thought Christianity was, so the question asked was Muhammad's writing in opposition to true Christianity... who would have never picked a fight with any nations border sovereignty, or catholic trolling you nations borders "in the name of" I challenge you throughout the table of historicity to see it any other way, the Christian church was underground at the time the catholic bishopric metastasized throughout the Mediterranean. If Catholicism was founded in the name of peace, how come everyone was dead set against it from the beginning? We all know that that's an illusion, it was in fact Constantine II, who had a famous quote about the nature of what the Catholic bishopric was going to accomplish... Muhammad was allowed by his tribal elders to contrive a faith that would unify the disparate nomadic tribes a seed of ishmael, under one banner because everyone else was doing it... So Muhammad himself couldn't just contrive it, he had to get permission - who did he choose? One out of 250 other so-called gods. People who know the history of the Roman Catholic church, know the history of islam, and because they know that history of islam, they don't respect it, because it is as contrived as the Roman Catholic bishopric is. But none of it is classic christianity. So what you have are two obstinate warring factions battling for global dominance. And that is the story up until today.... It wasn't Christians invading other nations lands in the middle east, it was a catholic global edict that they battled. Maybe the first to shed some perspective on maybe a new way those who choose to practice Islam can look at Christianity historically, they have had the wrong perspective because they have not been told truth They have been battling catholicism, not the God of their forefather Abraham, before it is wrong for them to war against his seed because through Christ they were all bought together in adoption spiritually to please him but that is a choice. The exhortation here and encouragement here is to choose wisely.
