My 13-year-old son attended Brickworld Chicago for the first time this year (not counting one previous Saturday-only visit), and he had a great time. We have been looking forward to this video so that he can say his build was featured on Beyond the Brick -- even if only briefly. 🙂 (His build is at 3:31:17 -- the small medieval battle scene.)

I was at Brickworld from Thursday to Sunday, and I walked around that hall many, many times. And already I'm seeing a few builds in this video that I don't remember seeing in person. 23:58 The art was eventually adapted as a tv show on Amazon Prime. In the show a small boy walks into the echo sphere (the ball in the trees) and once you enter it you swap consciousness with the nearest person or thing. In his case it happened to be a robot that was too big to enter the sphere again. So, in this scene we were depicting that the boy stuck in the robot has come across a dead robot and is contemplating his eternal loneliness and eventual death.

At the 2:55:18 mark you can see this years version of the underground HOPE Castle Ice Bear Lair with NEW Roaring Roller Disco with celebrities(Kevin Hinkle, Bricks O'Brian, Jesse's Brick Galaxy) playing instruments and singing. Joshua missed himself singing a Duet with a current LEGO Community Member Sara Skahill while roller skating. Also had some NEW clover leaves for my mom Sally, B4C, and Mariann Asanuma who have battled or are battling cancers . Unfortunately the best part of my layout was under the battlefield.

I swear, these guys are media illiterate despite 90% of LEGO MOCs being references to other media, mostly Star Wars. You can just sense how every time they get to a MOC of a specific scene from a show or film, he panics and tries to make a surface level explanation so that he isn't silent.

Sets are not allowed. The convention is all about custom models.
