Those window breakers/seat belt cutters should be secured down, no good if you end upside down in a ditch. Velcro them to the roof lining, that's what I've seen in some emergency vehicles.
@TheBugOutShopАй бұрын
Good idea.
@jcar1417Ай бұрын
I have one for ever position in my truck , all secured above head height. If you end up upside down your hand’s automatically fall to the roof also because each person has access to one there is less chance of fumbling a hand off.

We are coming up to Christmas, keep a look out for temporary seasonal jobs, even if it’s not what you really want, just to see you through. We had to do the same a number of years ago, I have now built an emergency savings acct with one months worth of basic money in it to cover bills, rent and food. Took a while but am aiming for 3 months as a buffer. Good luck.

Here we can get brackets that bolt onto the front seat bolts that mount a fire extinguisher so that it's always close at hand and you don't have to go searching for it. The only other things I would carry, and I have them in my 4wd is a puncture repair kit and some form of compressor. Even a small rechargeable one may get you out of trouble even if you have to change a tyre later. I also have a few valve cores as we often air down when off road and they can fail or get lost. A cheap digital tyre pressure gauge can be handy as well.
@TheBugOutShopАй бұрын
Yes a puncture repair kit would be a great addition but i rarely go off road. I do have a compressor that works off the truck battery but i wanted to keep the kit as simple and minimal as possible. Thanks for watching.
@sdsvietАй бұрын
yea fire extinguisher needs to be where it can be quickly accessible. might be too late once you get to your bag for it. even if it has to be in the bag for transfer to another vehicle, maybe have it in an outside pocket for quicker access.

Perhaps add a cheap pair of binoculars. I have an old pair of Bresser Diorit 8x56 Roof Prism Binocular, which were £50 from Lidl's back in the day. Good low light performance if a little heavy and bulky and good for observation down the road. Good well thought out car emergency kit but there was no AR15 under the back seats.

For your first aid kit some Tampax insertables for the larger type puncture wounds as they expand and seal the wound and gorilla tape as that can be useful for long cut wounds and splinting broken bones maybe some super glue for wounds that need stitching up another good Leigh information film
@TheBugOutShopАй бұрын
Super glue and gorilla tape would fix anything i recon. I prefer the Celox Rapid for any puncture/open wounds as it has a clotting agent. Thanks for watching

@TheBugOutShop @TheBugOutShop thanks, I've used these when I have had to reverse off a single narrow road in the countryside to let a car past, we got stuck, in mud and in a slight ditch, the same happened to my son last week, I guess if you've got 4x4 it's not a problem. Keep up the good work.

I would add two things too your kit, mate. First, as @hammondauger suggested, Toilet roll (or wet-wipes), you never know when you'll need them!! Second, and this is one thing to put in your first aid kit, Muslin Squares. These are amazingly versatile pieced of kit and take up very little space. I've found that the old ones mothers used to use are best (very soft and absorbent). They also have a psychological benefit of calming very young children, get them to 'hold it tight for me, it tries to run away.'
@TheBugOutShopАй бұрын
There are wipes in the kit but some more in the glove box would be handy. When the kids were small we bought wet wipes by the box load.

Massive overkill for the uk. Get an AA membership and ditch most of that stuff. If shtf and no breakdown service available your going no where in your vehicle anyway. We have extra clothes, a few blankets, food and water, first aid and that’s it.
@TheBugOutShopАй бұрын
@@JP-bc7vj that’s more or less what’s on the kit. I have had experience where been stranded on back roads for hours and needed this kit plus come across accidents where this kit would be needed do silly to say it is overkill when I have been in actual situations where it’s necessary, but each to their own.
