Royal Caribbean’s fifth Oasis Class ship, Wonder of the Seas, is now officially the world’s largest cruise ship. With that title comes plenty of new features including some new dining venues. We are back from a cruise on this ship and have put together this Wonder of the Seas Restaurant Guide.

----WONDER OF THE SEAS RESTAURANTS----
There is several Royal Caribbean food part of the cruise fare. . These include the main dining room and the popular Windjammer buffet. With so many great cruise food options, you certainly do not have to pay extra for dining (if you don’t want to).
The 3-story main dining room on Wonder of the Seas offers the traditional cruise dining experience. Cruisers can also opt for My Time Dining. Regardless of which you choose, the dinner menus are the same.
If you have cruised on Royal Caribbean before, then you are familiar with the Windjammer Marketplace. This buffet is now located aft on deck 15 rather than deck 16. Wonder of the Seas is home to the largest Windjammer in the fleet. This casual, complimentary buffet is open most of the day.
Other casual and complimentary dining spots on Wonder of the Seas include Sorrento's Pizza and Café Promenade located on the Royal Promenade. There is also the Boardwalk Dog House located in the Boardwalk neighborhood and Park Café located in the Central Park neighborhood. One of our favorite casual food venues is El Loco Fresh, offering tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos with a custom salsa bar.

Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas also features a number of specialty restaurants. These restaurants do all have up-charges; though, they are certainly worth it. If you plan to dine at a few of these venues, the Unlimited Dining Package is a good value.
Izumi is a Royal Caribbean fan favorite offering Asian-inspired teppanyaki, sushi, and other far east flavors.
The sports bar on Royal Caribbean ships, Playmakers has found its way onto the Boardwalk of Wonder of the Seas Restaurants. This family-friendly venue serves up a variety of game time food favorites along with a selection of beer.
One of our new favorite Royal Caribbean specialty restaurants is Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen. This rustic venue serves up all the Italian classics, like made-to-order pizzas, classic pasta dishes, mouth-watering entrées, and complimentary limoncello.
Also located in Central Park on Wonder of the Seas is Chops Grille and 150 Central Park. Chops Grille is the Royal Caribbean signature steakhouse. If you are looking for a perfectly seared cut of beef, then you will want to head to this venue.
On Wonder of the Seas, you can also venture down the rabbit hole to an Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant. Wonderland will transport you and your taste buds on a magical journey, serving up some exquisite dishes that are just as entertaining as they are delicious.
The Mason Jar is a brand new Wonder of the Seas restaurant, bringing southern cooking to the high seas. This venue serves up homestyle favorites in a farmhouse-style venue alongside live country music. This specialty restaurant is open for brunch and dinner. With menu options like chicken and waffles, gumbo, crab beignets, and cinnamon rolls, how could you not want to try?
Finally, there is Hooked. Located all the way forward at the top of the Solarium, Hooked provides a nautically themed setting alongside ocean views and seafood selections like oysters, drunken mussels, a whole lobster, or a lobster roll.

Thank you very much! For those of us who have never experienced the newer mega-ships, this gives us an excellent preview of all the other restaurants and dining experiences that are available in other parts of the Royal Caribbean fleet. I must say that there are so many hundreds of items per day/week in the buffets (four times a day), plus the main dining rooms, plus the other complimentary restaurants, that one could easily be very happy without spending extra on specialty dining.

Best description of this ship on youtube. Other bloggers are boring and make it about themselves with selfies and Instagram type photos. I actually prefer to spend extra on Specialty restaurants. Most ships are more relaxed with formal night, can the men wear a dress shirt and maybe a tie, without a jacket. I have seem people on Royal Caribbean ships on formal night wearing hats and hooded jackets, and jeans to formal night. Please answer.

Most likely they don’t use filtered water. You would need to ask about the types of coffee once onboard.

Playmakers is included, you just have a set dollar amount as it’s a la Carte. We believe the current allotment is 20.

No wine or beer is included. Free drinks include still water, brewed coffee, iced tea, lemonade, and some juices at meals.

You always have tea to drink which is free... Water will always be served. Cold drinks and wine will be a charge. Coffee after dinner is also free.

Tough question. We give mdr to Royal. NCL has better specialty restaurants. Casual eats is a toss up depending on the ship. We like the local on NCL and the buffet is average. Royal mega ships have el loco fresh and the park cafe which we like.

Honest Review of Wonder of the Sea The ship is huge…. Just added more cabins, more overprice Dining options, less venues for activities. Compare to other Oasis class, this has worst layout and less activities resulted boring cruise experience. Super difficult to find a seat at all venue. Music Hall and Bolero is smaller, while Karaoke and photo shop are super large. Service was excellent throughout the ship, including Dining Room and Windjammer. Excellent services provided by Erwin Nelson - Pool bartender, Noor of Windjammer, Fernando of Windjammer greeter, Ping at the Diamond Lounge, Juluis of Chef in kitchen and Anderson Perego of the pool towel station. The Captain is very friendly. The Beverage and Hotel Director Erfin is too pride to talk/listen and be friend with passingers. Dining Room for lunch and Dinner: Due to cost cutting, poor food quality. Very limited selection, limited to 3 appetizers and 3 main dishes. Menu is 12 years old and boring. Do not expect to have lobster until the 13th days. Pork Chops are always over cooked and very tough. However, service is wonderful, but need minor adjustment as to coordination and cooperation. Diamond Lounge: Usually there is a line for coffee. The 2 coffee machines break down daily and often. One machine has been leaking for 8 days. Also, we need more than 2 coffee machines for so many members. Mr. Ping of Beverage Dept. is very good in cleaning and reset the coffee machines constantly. Music: Third class. Bands at the Top Stage of Royal Promenade is a total waste. People just walk by and treat them as random noise that no one enjoy. Only 1 out of 50 people takes time to look up at the top stage noise makers. Boleros: Only place to dance on the ship. The LATIN band only plays the Mexican Pechanga and nothing else. At our request, they start playing Latin songs Cha Cha, Rumba, etc. at the end of the cruise. Not a true Latin band. The dance floor only fits 10 couples dancing for 7000 passengers. Sorrento: Separation of pizza from the drink and snack counter created confusion, and people flow problem. Sport Activities: Great. Zip line is super short. Production show: Wonderful and enjoyable. Enforcers 2 is fantastic. No more Broadway shows. Overall: Boring cruise unless you are super active in sport.
