I love this, but I wish you had changed the headers as well. Does Heartthrob have a header-back kit?

Yes they do make a header back kit. We chose to leave the manifolds right now because we had a nice leak free engine compartment. Maybe in the future we will do a header swap.

How are the fumes inside the cab with exhaust out the side?

None, that's the original exit location. Many years ago I had some fume issues in a K5 with a softtop, when I had the exhaust straight out the back. Side exit, no problems. I think that's why they used side exit from the factory, so you wouldn't get fumes when driving with the back window open.

We removed Y pipe and CAT and just ran it straight back on each side from factory manifolds. Thanks for watching.

what about cat converters? I thought the were necessary for 86 and newer

In NY, 1989 is emissions exempt. I think NY is either 20 or 25 years and older and they no longer inspect for emissions. Only safety inspection. Thanks for watching.

Why no xpipe or h pipe?

Stock 350 engine, any kind of balance pipe would offer no performance gain. It may mellow out the sound by giving it some balance. However, the kits available at the time we did it, had no balance pipe options. If they do now, and I was to do it again yes I would go for the x just to even out the sound. Thanks for Watching.
