Completed Red Breasted Merganser Hen

I wanted to circle back and show some reference photos of a recently completed Red-Breasted Merganser Hen decoy. This was the decoy that I was making when I did the "Building a Merganser Crest" how-to videos. I thought it might be helpful to see the completed bird.

Beautiful merganser as usual! Can you let me know the best source for larger sizes of tupelo. Seems to be getting scarce as many are now reaching retirement age. Do I need to get to a show and buy from vendors there? Number of shows have dwindled also it seems.

I have been getting mine from Brad Ketrick at the shows. I don’t use very large pieces but he has some I believe.
