This is the best setup I have seen in a long while and will have something similar in my truck on an 8ft bed.

Thank you! It's served me well. I would just caution you that the plywood is heavy!

This is exacltyu what i want to do in my excursion except make under the bed a drawer i can pull out and use to cook on. perfect build

Thanks! Good luck with your build. Just remember that the plywood I've used weighs about 300 pounds. I want to replace the plywood with 3M reinforced polyurethane foam board. Lighter, stronger, but much more expensive.

Nice set up. Is that a 6.5 foot truck bed?

Looks awesome, very similar layout to the build I'm doing, appreciate the insights and review! Where'd you get the material you used for your mattress?
@adventuresintruckland Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The mattress was a twin mattress I bought on Amazon. I should do an update video. I've added 2 inch high density foam underneath, since I made this video. It makes a huge difference. So in total, there's 3 inch of memory foam and 3 inches of high density foam. I also changed the case. I don't recommend using a case like that. It was supposed to prevent moisture getting in, but it did the opposite. Moisture got in and the case trapped it, and the foam got moldy and I had to replace it. Use a protective open cover.

Trying to understand the purpose of the isolator and 700w inverter. So that is to convert power from car power from what to what to charge the bluetti? You can't use the adapter that bluetti supplies that plugs straight into the cigarette lighter? I really would like to pick your brain. I really like this build. Just wondering also, how much weight did this build add to your truck bed?
@adventuresintruckland2 жыл бұрын
Hi Louis. It sounds like I should make a video specifically for my electrical system. And explain the technicalities of what I did and why. Would that be of interest to you? Maybe give me a list of questions that I can address. As for the weight, yes, it's quite heavy. I used around 5 sheets of plywood, the bluetti is 62 pounds and the fridge is 40 pounds. Also, the spare wheel is on a hitchgate. The spare wheel weighs 100 pounds and the hitchgate is probably somewhere around 60 pounds. This is why air springs are needed.

I have a question How did you cut your twin mattress to size? I want to do the same Please and Thank you
@adventuresintruckland2 жыл бұрын
I used an old bread knife, but any long sharp knife will work. I measured the width I needed, drew a line down the foam, and then just slowly sliced down the line.
@trackdaytalks2 жыл бұрын
What are the specs on the wheels/tires? Did you do a lift or a level? Sweet build!
@adventuresintruckland2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The tires are 35x12.5 BFG KO2 and the wheels are 18" Methods. A 3" lift with a basic Rough Country kit. I intend replacing the rear shocks, at some point.

If I didn't measure the dimensions, cut the wood, screw the wood together, laminate the surfaces, install the solar panels, install the electrical system, install the fridge and a number of other components, then who did? This is called construction, otherwise known as building.
