The way that effects work is that when the enemy turn ends their counter goes down by one so that's why going second makes him get the stats faster

One of the best combos with his is going to be using red melascula, since estarossa commandment cancel so the melascula buff stays if demon king dies and he gets 30% attack related stats from the relic, if someone doesn’t kill the demon king and kills melascula then you can get 30% attack related stats from commandment demon dying. You can also add assualt meli for the defense related stats lower since he can increase demon king damage

Use Red Melascula, Festarossa, Dk, and Suicide Fraudrin in back. They have to kill Melascula to do anything so he gets the 30 percent stats from that then Fraudrin comes in so if they aoe you get full ult gauge and another 30 percent basic stats and ofc if they kill festarossa you get the stats as well

Have you tried with assault meli + relic instead of purgatory meli? More basic stats and defence debuffs to help you nuke, plus estarossa’s commandment being switched off helps his amplify card

In anticipation for the global release i made the stupidest team i could ever think of, using weak commandments in the front so they die easily and have blue galland in the back so a random enemy instantly targets him so he dies that turn. Instant 126% attack and then the next turn ya get the additional 18% attack and 20% stats

Would not be surprised if red melascula is a good teammate with him especially in geared since you could give melascula crit defense gear cause unless they have green Escanor they can't remove the immortality so he can get away with running red sariel link instead of tarmiel link and if melascula dies he gets attack.

I've always made the joke that the dev team hates demons due to an old thing being that bosses always had increase damage to demons and decrease damage taken or were built around messing with them specifically E.X removing buffs in a non buff heavy meta But with the demon king I think somebody finally got the unit they wanted to make and made demons truly unmatched

some toxic/cringe guy out there will prob run him w/o demon n do cheesy ult rush behind taunt, cause if his ult doesnt kill he seal u then they prob still win since before seal run out he get his buff also ur current strate prob doesnt work as well down the road because of esta's relic, gonna provide that ult control, so can continue focus on killing demon king (cause turn 1 even w evade u doing 2 darkness on him, so turn 2 encroach n kill him w esta) and then it drain ur meli/esta's ult
