I think it's just because as kids we viewed her float as being really good. I think Mike Matei is not really into speedrunning and views these games more as something nostalgic from his childhood.

Isn’t the ”no power up”-condition a bit redundant since you’re not supposed to take any damage…? 😄

No because you can get power ups without taking damage.

@@kurtomac2386 I know, but the point is that a power up isn’t gonna help you in any way in a challenge where you aren’t allowed to take any hits, since power ups don’t make you bigger or shoot fire. So forbidding power-ups in a ”no hit”-challenge is redundant.
