sir want to know where to draw BMD on tension side or on compression side? does it matter to draw BMD specifically on particular side ? or is there cases BMD is to drawn on any side?
@DrJQureshiАй бұрын
BMD is drawn on tension side in Europe. In North America, it is drawn on compression side. Both are fine, depends on where you live or what sign convention you follow.

I have access to the resources via my university email. I'm not sure if they can be shared publicly or not.

Hello sir , My name is sumit gore Yours content is really good ..... I've some questions by profession I'm intern structural engineer , I'm working on mid high rise project right now on csi platform like etabs and safe . I wanted to know more about which platform for structural engineering used in uk or europe . [ Like - Tekla , stadd , Robot , etabs etc. ] Also more about simulation software can we analysis whole project in simulation like Abaqus or ansys rather than particular beam , column ? In my country design philosophy is force based but in uk Performance based design can you please make video on this particular topic .
@DrJQureshiАй бұрын
Thank you for your kind message. Software are just tools that you can learn. The most important thing is understanding engineering principles. Tekla and Robot are more commonly used here. ABAQUS and ANSYS are not typically used for full building or bridge analysis. I believe ABAQUS is better suited for civil engineering applications. Sure, I’ll make a video on performance-based analysis soon.
