If City are guilty for X and Y because rules set out by the Premier League were not properly manufactured, then clubs have the right to get compensation from the Premier League also as they could have lost money for abiding by their rules. I.e. Premier League say sponsorship deals have to be below £100m but clubs know they could gain profit - if they abide by those rules and those rules turn out to be wrong then the clubs can sue the Premier League for bringing in that rule. Just an example btw.

Of course it doesn't translate to definitely winning a trophy. Anyone with a brain can look at the PSR rules and know that it is to the benefit of already established clubs that have a revenue structure in place. Other clubs can't spend money to grow to compete with them in the long term. City and chelsea were allowed to grow into huge clubs but the others aren't. It also isn't fair. Nottingham forest cannot dream of a buy out that will propel them to their former glory. Wolves can never hope to replicate what chelsea did to establish themselves.

I wonder if the case for trying to prove loss is affected in anyway by recent developments regarding referee bias. Is loss wholly attributed to City's actions or are there other factors that could have caused it and then to what degree? Would the league then have to do an in-depth investigation into the PGMOL to ascertain what part they may have played in all this? And then, if loss has been determined because of actions attributed to PGMOL agents, could the clubs go after them for compensation? And if it is discovered that the PL were indeed aware of these actions and circumstances when they took place, what then?

Between 2009-2018 the average points for a champions league 4th place was 79 points and the average points to stay up to avoid relegation was 35 points. Coincidentally if you add the 2 together you get a 114 points which is the maximum points in a premier league season. In my opinion City should be deducted 79 points at the start of the season. Which would almost guarantee them to be relegated, I would expect most fans would see this as fair or satisfactory.
