Grew up poor AF but one time my grandma worked at the mall and came through with the Jordan 5s on the day they released. That is still one of the best days of my life...lol Had never felt so good as the 1st time stepping through the halls of my middle school w/ the newest J's. Still gives me chills

I'm so glad to live in a time period where culture is finally being recognized as something very special. Plus the beauty and sentiment captured on camera, especially in the sole origins Tokyo. Y'all really killed the delivery of what it means to buy something from there and because of it my friends understand my connection. Thank you Complex for creating an amazing series and telling powerful stories and for passing on culture!

@mikael Working hard doesn't just mean working at a job. Could be in school, or whatever else you're doing. Think about the bigger picture long term. It's not rocket science. Work hard in school at a young age, get good grades, go to a respected university, and a high paying job will come where you'll be able to afford almost everything you want if you work hard enough. I'm only 17, I made over 15k profit just by reselling sneakers and streetwear in less than two years. I have nearly straight A's and soon enough I'll be in a good college where I'll keep grinding, get internships, and so on. Most people don't have the work ethic to get rich. It's a trade off. Depends what you want do you just wanna do nothing and relax or do you wanna work countless hours and make bank, and become successful.

tbh you can keep used sneakers "fresh" for a really long time by just cleaning them every once in a while and treating them like you'd treat your kids

Austin Thomas he literally said it in the interview. If you can wear something you like, why not? He alluded it to sneakers but I’m almost certain that’s his fashion mantra.

You gotta take it back to 80's if you mentioned wallys you can't forget about British Walkers and I still to this day rock my NB 996.
@0mgskillz966 жыл бұрын
aikens todd word british walkers was poppin but only in the 80s and i feel like wallys was/is more of a status symbol, cuz wu made em hot for the 90s again, they had a longer lifespan than walkers and of course, cant go wrong with some new bals but i feel like it was more of a shoe for boosters, not on some fly drug dealer shit that the whole nyc wore like all the other kicks on the list
@aikenstodd6 жыл бұрын
@@0mgskillz96 As far as the NB's I'm from the Bx/Harlem and the hustlers was on them NB's heavy when there was $ in the streets. I agree with you with the Britishers though. There was too many kicks to choose from back in the days Ellesses, Avias, Sacouneys, etc, etc... These youngins got the game fucked up trying to look like what everyone else is looking like that shit is beyond lame.

Sneakers are a craze and they are very cool, to me personally style is an individual thing, it’s about uniqueness and not about looking like everyone else or trying to get the latest item that everyone is also out to get, to me sneakers also look cooler when they are worn, scuffed and have been enjoyed, the problem is most people confuse style with fashion, I don’t need to have the latest item or the most expensive I just want to find the most unique items as this is what sets me apart .

Tiffany Dunks UNDFTD Dunks Jeff Staple Dunks Del La Soul Dunks Supreme Blazers Changed the game! To what it is now. I was 17yrs old at this time it was the last piece of the old New York. If you wasn’t in the Sneaker/Skate Culture or didn’t do any but you was in the crowd you didn’t know what was going on! No Lines, No resellers, No Rich Kids, Few Tourist! But when that staple shoe dropped shit changed the whole game! Word got around on MYSPACE how much the SB would be worth and that was the first time I’ve seen a line! The Hood/Goons was waiting around corners , In cars and across the Street waiting for people to come out the store to rob them. The internet started to grow that allowed forums to open up and it caught on worldwide nobody was dressing like people in NY besides the LA skate culture .. people was still wearing hip hop gear in uptown’s ( Af1s ).

No offense to Clark Kent, but the 112 shoes are a perfect example of the "admire them, but don't wear them" type of kicks. I don't think I could put together a single outfit in my closet that would go with those colors.
