Man, when he said "I know kids get teased for wearing my shoe, but my shoe doesn't look like a 29 dollar shoe and I take pride in that". That touched me deep. I think is a shame kids do get tease for wearing Shaq shoes. We got to teach humility to our children.

word to god. we used to call them "air walmarts" when i was a kid. makes me sick thinking about clowning on someone because that's all their parents could afford. Im 35 now and I buy clothes from walmart and target all the time even though I make decent money. It's about looking fly, not spending money. After I discovered thrift stores in high school, I never looked at clothes the same way. You can hit up goodwill and look good for $10.

Wow it was diffrent in Sweden, Nobody could afford the Shaq's (that i know) that was like the holy grail. You alwaysvused to go to the sporting shops and they always had a replica of shaq's gigantic shoe. It was like 150$ at the time, the most i got sneakers for as a kid was 50$ and those was FIRE, regular joint like 20-30$ and nobody had jordans. Dont even think thet existed out here in the 90s. Reeboks was tha shyt. When air forces become popular is when people started rocking nike again and Js aint become popular until tha mid 2000s

Tbh back then I thought they were wack but after seeing ur comment.i might give them a shot.its stinks when u pay a good price for shoes n yet it lasts 1yr n half or so unless u REALLY take good care of them.i say that cuz yes it should be obvious but when u do have alot of stuff goin on whether dancing or music wise.they can wear out alot quicker.they didn't have dancing shoes back then but I guess u never judge a book by its cover

I'm not ashamed to admit it that in elementary we couldn't afford the big name brand shoes so I wore the shaqs and the and 1's from walmart. Mad respect to shaq for making affordable shoes for families that struggle and can't afford it. He could of brushed the woman off that told him about the shoes but took it to heart and made a change, thanks shaq I know it helped my family out alot.
